I've noticed that my clothing always wears out in the same place.

Shirts get tatty around the collar and armpits.

Pants get thin in the crotch.

Shoes have the padding rubbed away around the heel inside, and off the heel itself outside.

Am I alone in suffering this?

My T-shirts fray around the neck. I've never had underarm problems(!).

T-shirts armpits, will be because of the seam there, and same with crotch of jeans, this happens to me too.

And the shoes, but now the skin on my heel is so hard I dont even realise there's no padding left

I say this as I noticed the crotch from the boxers I wore yesterday was almost a hole, there's now also a hole in the crotch of the fresh clean pants I put on for work today (the crotch is approaching translucent) and there's hardly any tread left on my boots. Not to mention the heel of my foot is rubbing against the leather, having managed to work its way through several layers of padding.

Going to be an expensive shopping trip, replacing boots, office pants, underwear...

My shoes always crack horizontally along the ball of the foot the due to the way my CRAZY feet actually, y'know, bend there and have weight placed on them when I move my foot.

I don't wear anything out....except stuff I play football in but that gets a battering on the astro.

Maybe I should wear my clothes and shoes more, instead of buying new ones :S WHAT AM I SAYING!!?!

It's infuriating to be throwing away pants where the rest of the structure is fine (apart from the crotch), or shows where just the heel of the sole have worn through.

I go clothes shopping and buy everything in big batches, which means that all my clothes wear out at once. Hence I went into town today and bought three pairs of jeans and one pair of shorts.

I look forward to them all simultaneously disintergrating again a year and a half from now.

Jeans - crotch holes. Within several months.

Of course, this is fat man rub, though I like to think it is my immense thigh muscles thanks to the running and the cycling.

You eat a lot of spicey foods da?

First place that oil goes is through your pores.

I would imagine it's not terribly good for stitching etc.

Still, at least you know you have good skin :)

Get your master to loosen your reins and take your shoes off before he drags you around the dungeon.

Seriously though. I don't wear clothes out like that. Mine seem to last a long time, as long as I buy decent quality (I usually do). Since I'm not what you'd call a dedicated follower or fashion (jeans, t-shirt and trainers FTW) I buy plain, high quality stuff. Of course things do wear out after a few hundred wash-wear-wash cycles but I don't find things 'going' in the same place.

I've just realised how old my Autobot t-shirt is... 11 years :) Me skanky

I'm going to go with the spicy foods-release-weaker in the crotch. But otherwise yes, friction. It isn't the heavy seam but the actual material that goes on my jeans - shocker. I am now compensating by owning four pairs and not just wearing the same one or two all the time. That way even if each only lasts a few months it'll seem like longer.

If anyone wants some perfectly good trouser legs, let me know.
