It's better than the numbers game, for sure.

My girlfriend recently bought a birthday card from marks and spencers for her grandad which had on the front "your the best grandad in the world".

A letter is in the post venting my anger.

Here here.

Also, whilst we are on the topic of Marks and Spencers. My sister works at one of their larger stores, mainly in the offices but sometimes on the shop floor.

Her bosses said to her "we make a bunch of money from selling store credit cards. So try to push them onto every single customer."

She said "No. I am not doing that."

He bosses said "....OK"

I wish all people who work in all shops would do that. The Post Office especially.

Yeah, they have a nasty trick with their gift vouchers too. It's a plastic card rather than a voucher and I suspect it morphs into a store card when you're not looking.

The Nivea for Men advertising campaign about them using silver in their deodorant starts off with the words:

"Who would of thought..."

I almost had an embolism on the tube...

From elsewhere:

Quote:
It used to be said that M&S had "10 items or fewer", Sainsburys had
"10 items or less" and Asda had "baskets only".
