So yesterday we tried connecting a 360 to the internet via connection sharing, ethernet from the laptop (no wireless on the 360 and it's miles from the router).

However instead of actually sharing the connection it killed all the internet in the house.

Any ideas what might have gone wrong?

(naturally it's back to not being shared now or I wouldn't have been able to post this)

Never tried this, found some info here

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/wind ... on-Sharing

The diagram shows that all the PC’s are using a switch and wired connections, you would be surprised how many MS technologies don’t support wireless, at work we found that LYNC (the MS IM and desktop video solution) doesn’t for some things.

My advice is buy 2 200mbp Ethernet over power plugs and use those for the 360.
