try this?
Ooh! PS2 too!
Except that any VGA cable which requires that it occupy one of the PS2's memory card slots before it'll even display a picture should send alarm bells ringing from the off.
Yes, I purchased this. Yes, I tried it out. The results make me want to cry emo tears.
It took lots of faffing about before I could get it to display PS2-ness on my HDTV (which shares similar technology with PC LCD monitors if I'm led to believe) - and even then it resembled poor quality to me. It started off shunted to one side (so I had to adjust the picture manually), and there appears to be no way of making it take up the whole screen. And it looked too bright everywhere - particularly in the black/dark palette (usually the PS2 BIOS background, natch).
On the Gamecube, it was even worse. It didn't require I insert a special port into a memory card slot, but the picture looked very "ghostly", even after I adjusted the TV's settings
again (it looks like you'll need to re-adjust it every time you switch consoles). I could hardly get anything as nice-looking as what the older Dreamcast could produce. Suffice to say, I didn't bother testing the cable out with my Xbox. I'd had enough of this mass of cables taking up space in my bedroom already.
So yes, what a senseless waste of £23.89. I really hope I can flog the thing on eBay somehow. I'm going to try and blag me an HD component cable for the PS2 instead, and I wouldn't mind some assistance in finding a better HD solution for the GC. Any suggestions?
