"The site" is, scarily, going live on Feb 1st. If anyone could write a review on a "recent" game, that would be acebest. Best reply here with the game you are going to do so there is no replication. Features (and anything else, TBH) are also welcomed, of course.
Ta!

Do we need to set some writer's guidelines here? Like, grade games from S-rank (best), A, B, C, D, E, F. And how do we expect people to give us the reviews? Shall we get them using the backend themselves (that's my preference).

(I tried to IM this to you but I appear to be on the line to Mrs Grim...!)

It's not recent, but I've been playing a stupid amount of Test Drive Unlimited recently so I can review that if there isn't one already.

It's been decided that it's "Jump, upstarts!". Or something like that.

How recent is "recent"? I could do an extremely gushing review of Bangai-O Spirits if you want.

Someone with a bit of writing talent, i.e. not me, should give Fallout 3 the review treatment. Having not played any of the Fallout games before and not really playing Oblivion much either, I'm not really in a good position to compare it to anything.

I'm sort've fiddling with a Rock Band / Rock Band 2 review. Can't promise for the 30th, though.

Do you imagine we'll be getting a lot of pre-release games? I think I might just put it under Articles for now.

I'll be looking at this very closely Gaywood as you're an unashamed Resi FANBOI. If there is anything other than a fair and balanced review I'll be around with my tar to do your balls.

Maybe we should all have animated gifs of ourselves bouncing in our seats excitedly and we could put those in place of reviews of games we love

Has anyone done Fallout 3? Or is anyone doing one? I'd like to have a pop, but preferably someone who has played 1&2 and/or Oblivion can do one at the same time, to give reviews across a wider range of gamer experience.

Or something.

It would certainly be intriguing to read the box out "another view" from someone who wasn't au fait with the prequels, as well.

That's about the gist of it, yes. It could have been made far more interesting if there was a quick and easy way to get screenshots apart from trying to get into a safe location, rotate the camera with one hand on the right stick while trying to hold my cameraphone steady in the other.

Like I said, it's all I've got at the moment.

At least from your comment I see you've read the diary and are aware of Sheelagh's... issues.

Sorry goatboy, my sarcasm ray hit the wrong party there :D There wasn't a poll, but I did suggest we have one when the current name was being proposed (in the editor subforum thing). Cos I thought some of the other suggestions were betterer.

However that does seem to be the consensus among the people who are actually putting the effort into the site to it seems churlish to moan about it, so I'll stop :)

Bangai-O Spirits review is about 75% done. I should be able to finish it tomorrow evening (my next available free time, as I'm working this evening and then again tomorrow morning). I'm running out of ways to say "brilliant", though. Not to mention finding it hard to describe a game that pretty much defies description. Can I just come round all your houses, hand you my DS and say "just play it!" instead?
