Third series starts tonight, this time with almost an entirely new cast of youngsters. I can't wait.

I don't believe I asked this forum what opinions they have on this programme? It's certainly an interesting - if not downright accurate - take on modern teenage life with issues, illegal substances and tartar-sauce-swapping (albeit never graphically).

It seems to done wonders for some people who've appeared on it - the lead guy in Slumdog Millionaire being the most obvious example to start off with. I believe one of them also appeared on Doctor Who. On the other hand, another starred in recently axed HSM-lite opus Britannia High.

One thing I have to find ironic though, is the way all the MySpace profiles of the Skins characters are so elegantly and intelligently written out - much more so than most teenagers' MySpaces.


Ultimately, I feel the show to be right up there with the much-missed Teachers.

Yeah it was alright.

The vastly under-appreciated show 'the inbetweeners' is much funnier. more honest and just all around better though. But as a fantasy show about imaginary teenage life Skins ain't bad.

It came across as a bunch of hateful Nathan Barley-style teens who have far more sex and do far more drugs than should be possible, perhaps to enable the writers to live out their fantasy of what they wished their teen years had been like.

One thing I should add - I'm in love with the TV On The Radio track they're using for the current trailer.

Teachers was an an entirely different kettle of miscellaneous swimming things, and was absolute solid fried gold. A sort of "This Life" with whimsy, humour and teachers.

But now it just seems to be a case of "I'm a total slut, and here is my equally fit twin sister who's a timid virgin, which of you DKNY underwear model-esque studs will get to paw her milky white tits as you grunt your spoiled todger into her delicate, soft minge?" as some sort of come-on to get us to watch it? Or have I missed something?

Just watching the trailer one of them says "are you ready to play the game Freddie?" or something. I want to reach in and throttle the posh cunt.

I love it, takes me back to my youth.

That name sparks up two TV shows in my mind. One was moderately amusing and involved one episode with a joke about somone's new 'friend', to the extent that everyone mocked him by just yelling "FRIEND!" in a stupid voice.

The other was the worst television show I have ever witnessed, starting with two people bored of shagging, because they were shagging so much, and said shagging a lot, and tried shagging in new positions, so they could show how much they were shagging. This was all done without the barest hint of irony. And then a bloke came in, playing the archetypal geek, bragging because he had finally reached Level 14 on Final Fantasy... thus alienating any audience members who had ever played a Final Fantasy game.

Dear Lord, that was such a terrile show, whatever it was. It lives long in my memory and I only watched it for about 30 seconds.

Your first show was the correct one.

That episode amused me.

Teachers was alright until season 4 started, season 3 was much worse than the previous two as well.

Skins is hateful. I don't think I've instantly hated a show as much as that for a long time.

To all those people crying "Nathan Barley!" and "Wankers!", can I just ask one thing?

What exactly do you expect teens to behave like?

Basically to drink and bum each other, but with approximately 19000000000000000000% less of the avariciousness and smugitude of anybody in Skins. Please!

I doubt a show about mumbling burberry-donning chav-teens blarting incomprehensible nonsense at their three-times-pregnant girlfriends would be any better, to be honest with you.


The Skins kids don't seem very arsey to me.

Just a programme about some teenagers whose overriding personality trait isn't having their scalp pressed firmly up against their small intestine would be nice.

Shameless is brilliant, though.

Teens in real life, for starters, rather than some TV exec's wank fantasy. "This is how cool I would have been as a teenager if I was like this then, like".
