Back on the spliffs. Washed down with a brown ale. I was doing so well, but at the same time my mind was going very wonky.

How long have you been avoiding them? And was it a relaxing evening habit, or a throughout-the-day habit?

Since new year, and has been an evening thing, can't do it during the day, would distract clients from my conselling them off of drugs and that.

/edit actually it's more the tobacco I'm trying to lay off, and during the day and most of the evening I'm fine. Just tonight it's too efing much for various dull reasons, including O2 :)

Remember: if you do smoke the spliffs, try not to smoke the spliffs.

Eat what you have left and don't buy any more.

Fuck it, man. I'm sure you'll know yourself if it's any kind of a problem. The only reason I can't touch it at the moment is that it will lead me back into smoking tobacco again, other than that it's loads better than booze.

I've given up booze this year. So far - not that hard, tbh.

GY: Do you find a lot of people who are drugs councillors take drugs? I know a lot of nurses and they're all terribly unhealthy.

I must come off the booze. I'm taking anti-depressants at the moment and it's not a good combination. Plus I noticed this morning that I'm starting to look pregnant.

I got through 1/3 of a bottle of vodka last night.

My not drinking in Jan failed ages ago.

Not doing too badly though. A handful of beers and 1.5 bottles of Port so far.

I think the only alcohol I've had in the past four or five months has been the stuff I've used for cooking*

I've always thought January was the wrong time to start new stuff. We should all have "Spring Resolutions" instead - nobody is going to get more exercise when it's cold and wet and dark outside, and all you want to do is sit inside and eat cake.

Probably because they see perfectly healthy people dying every day. They have a better understanding of fragile existence. Or something.

It's a bream come true.

I've cut down on alcohol, too. I'm now only drinking on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
