The other saturday I went into PMT (The music shop in Birmingham) and enquired about a roland TD9KX electronic drum kit to play at home. I had a chat with the sales guys, tried one out and in the end bought one with a few add ons.

The guy in the shop went out the back for ages and ages and when he came back he informed me that they had none in stock but could get one delivered to me by Tuesday! Fair enough I thought, it's a mild inconvinience but I'm a patient guy so I said that was ok. He even threw in some sticks for me!

Anyway, Tuesday came and went and the drums didn't turn up. I phoned the guy and he said they were in Oxford and I wouldn't get them till Thursday. They hadn't been sent out as promised. He offered to throw in more sticks for me but I told him to chuck in some headphones and I'd be happy.. ish.

Thursday came and the drums turned up with the headphones an all! Great.. apart from a cymbal arm was missing. He's promised to send this out but it wasn't there. I called him again but the guy I was dealing with was on a day off and wouldn't be back until Saturday. I called on Saturday, he said he'd send it out personally and it's been a week and it still hasn't turned up!

I've just tried calling him again but the guy was off sick and some other muppet took my number and will no doubt not ring me back. All I want is what I've paid for?!? Is that too hard to manage?

Things like this really annoy me.. Why do I have to expect things not to turn up or be wrong? Why can't people in this kind of industry just do their job properly and send me what I ordered and paid for weeks ago!

I'm angry.

It sounds like they've had supplier problems, but rather than come out and admit it, they've led you a merry dance.

A bit like the "the taxi is just round the corner" line.

Which I guess could be the case, I just wish they'd told me that in the first place rather than lie to me! They had my phone number to call me whenever they wanted.

It's the last time I ever send any business their way.

If you'd have told them you knew Ace you'd have been sorted from the get go!

If only I'd known sooner... then I wouldn't have wasted nearly two weeks of my life waiting for this damn cymbal arm to turn up!!

I'm sure if I'd have mentioned Ace then they would have had everything in stock in the first place and I wouldn't have ever had to call them and put up with their guitar twiddling hold music.

It is a good job you're only teasing Mimi.. My Hulk like anger levels would have been tipped over the edge otherwise... Still, it is an ace drum kit.

"PMT"? Seriously?

What idiot came up with that? That's almost as bad as the estate agent on the Uxbridge road called "STD".

More like "Ba-dum... clonk.".

You've probably already thought of this, but did you pay for this with a credit card? If it's not arriving as it should, can't you take it up with them and they'll send out GOONS?

Is that what you've spent the money I gave you for the wrestling DVDs on?

At least our local bus service went from PMT to First PMT to First Group.

Look at the name of the bus operator (above the rear wheel)...

'STCUM'. The patron saint of jism.
