Be Excellent To Each Other

So I've been on hols and thought I'd lift the pics I took on t'iPhone and stick them on the PC. (Luckily I took most photos on a decent camera.) I open the 'Apple iPhone' folder on My Computer, and some pics are missing. And others are duplicated. I F5, and more appear, but some vanish. They're still on the phone when I check there... I don't understand what's going on. Does anyone?

And please, no 'iPhone cameras are shit'. I know: I use it!

You could always try syncing them through iTunes?

Or, if it's jailbroken, SSH into the phone and copy them over that way using WinSCP or something similar.

Update: I haven't dared trying to sort my photos again yet, but thanks for the advice GazChap.

That's not it, though. I just got wi-fi in, so I thought I'd do the old iTunes remote routine. So I click on the remote app on my phone. Blah blah blah, it brings up the four-digit passcode.

What do I do on iTunes? I've clicked the name of my phone under 'devices', but it's not asking for any passcode. I'm sure I'm doing something really easy really wrong. Help!

[edit] Bloody hell. Now the icon's appeared, but it's not accepting my passcode advances. Infuriating!

[edit edit] It worked! Err, and is now apparently being blocked by my firewall...

Bollocks. I added the ports to my firewall like Apple asked, and still no joy. Poo.
