BHS, who are making some of the world's most hateful adverts at the moment (the 'Rock star' sofa advert, bloomin' 'eck) have started running one with 'All I want for Christmas is you.' I've got absolutely nothing against Mariah Carey in a fuzzy red snowsuit (and nothing underneath) but this can FUCK OFF.

But in particular need of FUCKING OFF is the 'Can't Touch This!' Argos advert, in which a woman watches a team of overeager clerks elaborately wrapping her purchase... and decides to go to Argos instead for the vastly superior purchase of having spotty chavs dropkick her purchase across the warehouse and then Shaznay the checkout girl scrapes all the magnetic strip off her debit card with her ludicrously long fake nails.

Argos, every time your advert comes on, I CHANGE THE CHANNEL. REMEMBER THAT.

I thought it was a DFS advert with Rockstar. When I first saw it, I really did laugh. I think that sofa will become much cheaper or just not sell this christmas. I need to get a christmas tree as well.

But at least the 'Don't drink and drive' adverts are good this time of year.

I'm going to have a furniture emporium and call it "Sofa So Good" and play Dire Straits on my adverts. Whilst helicopter gunships strafe schoolyards in search of Jesus, who in fact is a crack dealer on a council estate, selling death to the kids and then he gets shot by the helicopters and Maddie's angel flies out of his body up to join a smiling Diana and then there'll be the "10% off, all weekend" sign.

Those Argos ads are awful.

I genuinely don't get how Argos still exist, almost everything in the shop can be obtained cheaper elsewhere. In other news Woolworths are apparently going under, I hope I helped just a little with that the shower of bastards.

Do BHS still even exist? My mum used to shop in there all the time...

Perhaps it's rose-tinted childhood lenses, but I don't remember Woolies being as grotty as they are now. You go into one and the whole place just feels... unclean.

I agree. The Woolies in Liverpool is stuck firmly in 1986. It has narrow aisles and shelves stacked too high. Very claustrophobic. The one in Middlesbrough is ace though, very clean, spacious and pleasant. It was only open about 5 years ago though.

Problem with Woolies is that it doesn't really know what it wants to be. You don't think 'I need X, I'll go to Woolworths'. There's no particular thing that makes it stand out on the High Street.

Have you noticed, they've reformatted the traditional Hellmans Mayonnaise advert? It's in proper 16:9 now and they've made a good job of it. Why Coca-Cola couldn't get a new fucking advert is beyond me though.

I must admit, that Jason Donovan one made me smile. I doubt I'll be saying that after seeing it 5000 times though. Record TV, watch later, skip adverts. It's the only way

I don't think she says anything on the new ad-it's all the other woman (I may be wrong!) it's weird obviously Iceland may be thinking of chopping her ^.^

Rarely watching any form of TV does have some advantages. Lack of annoying adverts being one of them, closely followed by lack of annoying programs.
