Eurogamer article.

Quote:

A source close to Canadian developer Blue Castle Games has told Eurogamer that the studio is making a sequel to Dead Rising.

Rumours that the Vancouver-based outfit was working on the zombie project first emerged last year, but neither the developer nor publisher Capcom has confirmed anything on the record. But while Eurogamer was on a secret mission in Vancouver last week, we were told by a source familiar with the project that Capcom has indeed farmed out development to the Western team.

The source said: "Everyone's really excited; the team has obviously seen the rumours and it's been hard to keep quiet, but they can't wait to show off the game."

Unfortunately, they wouldn't give us any details on the title or when we're likely to see it. Boo.

Blue Castle has so far released two baseball titles with 2K Games, including The Bigs, and announced MLB Front Office Manager earlier this month.

The company describes itself on its website as "a full-service, multi-project and multi-platform 3rd party developer located in Vancouver, Canada", where: "We are well underway on three new projects - an unannounced Action title and two Sports titles one of which was just announced."

Our source confirmed that the action title is a sequel to the deliciously enjoyable zombie romp, which released on 360 in 2006. The studio is currently hiring for its action project, with one job listing stating: "It's getting around - there is something amazing being built here at Blue Castle behind locked doors."

A spokesperson for Capcom Europe refused to comment on the matter.

More nice dresses plz.

The suspicious looks that Brad keeps throwing you in the cutscenes are 300% more hilarious if you're standing there in a floral-print dress and a teddy-bear mask.

Secondeded. No:

-convicts in a jeep
-cunts with cameras
-chainsaws that run for 30 seconds
-latino arseholes with amazing weapons who just escape every time you kill them, and you can't pick up the weapons
-latina bitches on motorcycles who are annoying to kill and then complain at you that 'you're hurting me!' after just trying to kill you
-exploding cultists
-handheld transponders
-achievements requiring you to play for 14 hours straight
-a room full of people shouting 'BOO HOO! BOO HOO! WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?'
-cameos from Kieron Gillen
-ridiculous levelling system

No game mechanic requiring playing through the same game eight times, making one slight change each time.

Or, doing an entire playthrough to accomplish one task (say, zombie genocider, or getting all the PP stickers/clothing/food) and then, unless you have something else to occupy your time, just standing on the stupid helipad and leaving the game running for several hours for the story to end and for your work to 'count'.

Dead Rising is a horrific, frustrating, difficult and frequently badly designed game.

That I'd recommend to absolutely everyone.

Craster, look, we all know Grim...'s brain is unreliable. Remember the train to Nottigham? Just ignore it and it'll go away, it's best for us all. Look! A puffin! Awesome!

This is one of the games I own but have barely touched. What's the Wii version going to be like - a cut-down remake of the 360 versh or a new game?

Dead Rising so nearly is the greatest games in the world, crippled by Games Designers forcing their vision of gameplay on the player and completely ruining it, turning it into one of the most hateful gaming experiences of the last 10 years.

Still, more zombies, huzzah.

With the important distinction that Dead Rising is 99% game, 1% cutscene not the other way round and is still actually good.

Nevertheless, MGS is Kojima forcing HIS VISION of gameplay on you... which is to stay, stiff controls, guards who can somehow alert the entire base if you clip through them and they spot you a split second before your hand closes over their face, endless cutscenes and angst...

Why wasn't MGS first person? Because Kojima gets motion sick and therefore didn't include the option (though later versions included it)

Why did you have to go trawling around for Meryl's fucking codec number? Because Kojima thinks it's 'cool'.

Why did you have to play as hateful lank-haired blond prettyboy Raiden instead of Solid Snake in MGS2? Because Kojima wanted you to see how great Solid Snake is from another person's perspective.

ET FUCKING CETERA.
