Be Excellent To Each Other

I was called by a recruiting agency two weeks ago.
If I would be interested in working as a programme manager in the municapility of Amersfoort.
Regarding improvement the Triangle-area (three intersecting freeways)
Sounded like a great job, and after two talks the selection committee was quite convinced by me
But i also had to talk with wath they called information committee (people who would work not directly with youm but in the environment around you)

civil servants in the worst sense of the world
It was a conversation that didn't really take of.
Consequently they gave a negative advice.
And the selection committee felt they couldn't ignore it, even though they wanted me.
The other guy didn't get the job because he wasn't good enoguh.

I am a bit frustrated now, and not excactly sitting at the desk of my old job with motivation
although i love my normal job..

Sounds like you dodged a bullet to be fair! Although the job itself might have been good, working with these people, even occasionally, is hell. .

What a bunch of idiots. The guy who's no good doesn't get the job, the guy who is good (you) doesn't get the job either. They've screwed themselves over.

I have been working on projects with civil servents as customers for years.... they are terrible

And annoyingly, they never seem particularly civil. They should be renamed 'grumpy servants'.
