I think I'm correct in saying I'm not the only Sean Bean/Sharpe fan here?

Anyway, just found out there's a new Sharpe on the telly next month - a two-parter called Sharpe's Peril. Hopefully it will be ace.

I love Sean Bean.

That is all.

:hat:

Sharpe is the best army man ever. Shortly followed by Dave Tucker.

I was about to do a FTFY inserting Robson and Jerome, but then I remembered.

Whatever happened to Jerome? Did he finally burst from excess pie consumption?

I think I'd enjoy Sharpe more if Dennis Waterman guested in an episode. I've seen episodes in the past and just felt that it needed that extra something.

Sharpe is fine, all hail Sharpe!

Y'know Boromir's last battle? I always wanted a gaggle of Frenchman to unexpectedly wander into shot and be skewered and hewn by an enthusiastically sword wielding Sean Bean, the camera following as he runs on to slay more orcs as if nothing has happened. Never happened though. Shame.

"Bit of raspberry jam, eh? Bit of raspberry jam!"

I've never got round to reading or watching any of them, despite my interest in the period. Silly, really, but I think it's partly because last time I looked, there were around three hundred million instalments, and I really couldn't be arsed.

He did make reference to it in the first film, though, he picks up a sword, looks at it, and says "hmm, still Sharpe" and then trots off somewhere.

I've never bothered watching Sharpe as I'm much more interested in space ships than old military stories.

Sharpe is thoroughly excellent stuff. This will annoy me though, as it's not in my boxed set.

I still haven't watched the last one, Sharpe's Waterloo. Must fix that soon.

That box set was approximately £1,000,000 when Mrs C bought it. A quick scout on Amazon suggests Bean's stock has fallen almost as low as Joans'.

He just always seems a genuine nice bloke, you know? I bet if you saw him in Tesco and said hello, he wouldn't tell you to piss off.

Sharpe was excellent fun.

I also find Sean Bean quite amusing.

His O2 adverts are great. You can imagine him feeling really uncomfortable in the recording booth.

Sean: "SeyWha'YowCunDao"

The director: "Great Sean. Now, just slow it down a little. And try to sound a bit less, um, Northern."

Sean: "SeyWha'YowCunDao"

The director: "Ah. Yeah. Great. Once more, a little slower. Think Stephen Fry."

Sean: "SeyWha'YowCunDao"

The director: (Switches off mic) "We're going to be here for a while..."

I loved sharpe as a kid, but outgrew it and laughed at my teenage friend who still liked the show. Then about a decade later I caught it on some freeview channel (UKHistory or somesuch) and it entertained me and my hungover girlfriend for a good 4 hours. Its perfect fluff viewing,

Oh the follies of teenage superiority.
