At work, we are shortly to receive blackberrys, which, technology Belm that i am, think is pretty pointless. Still, shiny things...

Been asked if i want it amalgamated with my phone, and no one can actually answer what that entails. i assume it means phone replacement, and have heard that the blackberry can be pretty shitty for phone calls - is this still the case?

Do you mean you currently have a work phone and they are giving you a blackberry for emails and to replace your existing work phone? If so, this is good. I like them. I had one before my iPhone and still miss it a bit-I really liked having a physical keyboard and am sometimes tempted to go back to one for that reason. I never really experienced any problems with calls.

I would think it means combining the two.. depends if you mind carrying two phones about? Do you have a personal one as well?

yep, or they said we could keep the phone as well. A friend said the blackberry was shocking as a phone, but this was a few years ago...

They're lagging behind in the smartphone stakes, for sure. But they're not bad, and the price does appear to be right.

Get ready for the horrible software to kill your PC.

I'm amazed how the desktop manager software is 250mb. We've also had to disable it from auto-starting on some laptops as it renders them unusable for a few minutes on start-up.

I do like my work blackberry though, especially since I added my personal email account to it (handy that the hosting I have added blackberry support).

Cheers chaps. My work laptop is a creaking antique anyway ( i work for a big company so any upgrades have to be co wide and are pricy/hard for them to implement) so i fully expect it to die.
