This seems to happen enough to need its own thread, if not a full blog!

Latest email

"Hi Niel,

As you may know we have an amazing womens ministry here at Bayside church. Every year us guys have the opportunity to show the girls how much we value them as our wives, partners, friends, support and inspiration.

This year is no different, I am looking to put together a team of awesome guys to welcome the girls into their end of year event. I know many of us will be supporting them by minding the kids, and giving them the space to come and hear from God, however for those of us who can I am looking for a team of 10 guys who can help with serving on the evening of 28th November 2013.

It would be great if we could be dressed in our finest, (black pants, white shirt, tie etc) we would be greeting the women in the car park, handing out a special gift to each one as they come in. Being available to serve refreshments, act as catchers as the night is going to be very prophetic, and at the end of the evening escort the women to their cars.

Date: 28th November

Time: 7:00pm to 10:00pm

Venue: Bayside Centre Cheltenham

Please respond if you can be available for the evening.

Thanks & Blessings

Scott

Annoyingly that is Cheltenham in Australia, not in the UK...

Say that you'll be there and you'll sort out all the gifts.

Did I make this up in my head or did Trooper say he'd actually responded to some of the emails back when this started and asked the senders to tell Doppelgänger Idiot to sort his shit out? I mean I too am always amazed that this prick has never wondered why he gets no emails and worked it out for himself, but it's even more bizarre if some of his friends and family have completely ignored Trooper's attempts to be helpful.

Indeed, he has his own special filter in my email now.

I think there are two idiots on the go these days though. Australian dude, who is by far the main culprit, and at least one other person. Unless the Aussie guy is also looking for a sofa in the UK on ebay....

Trying to buy something from the wrong eBay locality would surely be the least fucking retarded thing this guy has done in any given day?

Aye, this latest email was copied to his wife though (or what I assume is his wife, you know what these religious types are like, bitches in every parish), so I've emailed back to both of them. I shall report if I get a reply.

I love this whole thing! (I do understand why you don't love it of course)
I also keep wondering about all the people you sent replies to and nothing ever changing
wasn't there also a new job thing?
and some sort of bachelor party thing with questions?
do none of these people respond when you reply to them the email address is wrong?

I find it more amusing than annoying these days, I've filtered out the majority of shit he has signed me up to, so it's only the real emails that get into my inbox, which i'm amused to see what he is up to now :D

There was a new job thing, and a bachelor party thing. I've only ever had one response after I have sent back saying they have the wrong person, I can't recall what that was exactly, but I think it was a "sorry", no mention of whether they told him or not. I reply back to every email I get (that looks like it is from a real person) and tell them they have the wrong guy.

I didn't realise you were doing that, which makes it a million times worse because either none of his friends are bothering to tell him or he's just ignoring all these reports from people he knows of a strange man replying to his emails (while also not making the connection to the fact that he never gets any of the emails he's expecting). Fucking hell.

Totally mind blowing. It would only take one of my friends to tell me that a strange man had replied to an email, for me to investigate.

I expect that it isn't every time that he gives out the wrong email, just every so often he forgets what his actually is and gives out mine instead.

I do agree that after it has happened once, maybe twice, then personally I would be a lot more careful about giving out my email address in future, and make doubly sure it is correct. However, I am not an idiot :D (In this regard at least)

Don't forget it could be the person sending the email typing it wrong as well.

Could be, but it happens too often for the Aussie guy for that, I think.
I'd really like to know what his real email address is, to see quite how close it is to mine.

Unless it was your typo he's called Niel so could still be people at either end mistyping.

That was the second email, in the first he was called Neil. I suspect the Niel in the second email is a typo.

More fun from the Aussie.

"Hi Neil,

We are hosting a telephone town hall for Dogwood supporters the evening of Tuesday Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. PST/8 p.m. MST. Expect a call from us at that time so we can get your feedback and offer you the inside scoop on our No Tankers and Beyond Coal campaigns.

What we’ll cover on the call:

We’ll report-back on our first-ever supporter survey.
We’ll review recent successes of the No Tankers campaign and present where we think the campaign needs to go in order to be successful.
We’ll recap the first six months of the Beyond Coal campaign, including recent victories and a look at the challenges ahead.
Most of all, we’d like to hear from you, answer your questions and let you hear from others who care deeply about their communities and democracy.

We know it’s a busy time of year. If you would rather not participate in the call, you can simply hang up at any time. If you have a question, please reply to this e-mail.

Thanks for your support.

Sincerely,

Lyndsey Easton
Communications Coordinator"

I have a question, Lyndsey. Why, when your entire job involves coordinating communications, can you not get a guy's email address correct?
