Another year and another attempt to guess how much money your going to spend on gaming !

Any hardware your looking at picking up ?

Are there big games you are going to grab on day 1 - or will you wait for the magic £20 mark ?

Post your estimate here and try and keep track of just how much money you are throwing away when instead you could be outside !

I have tentatively gone for £400-£600. There's a PS5 in my future, maybe this year, but I'll I've still got a bit of stuff to shift that might bring the overall spend down, and I've probably got enough unplayed games to see me through most of the year, so just depends on what else I fancy.

I've gone for £2000-mental, I'll definitely be getting a PS5 and XBSX (assuming availability happens at some point) and want to get a new PC this year (again, assuming availability of CPUs and graphics cards happens) - so that'll throw it straight over the top even without any games spend.

Would have got the new PC last year but there are basically no graphics cards and none of the new Ryzen CPUs to buy.

I've gone for £200-£300. I need to be sensible this year and focus more on finally being debt-free. There are still a few things I wouldn't mind, such as a Vectrex or PS4 Pro and VR but I can't justify that spend with the small amount of gaming I'm actually doing lately.

I'd still quite like a Radiant Silvergun ST-V cartridge but they're about £250+ and some seem to be conversions rather than the genuine article, so I might just park that idea for a while.

Are import taxes going to smash prices up on electronic stuff?

Although if the Astro City Mini gets cheaper, I might end up getting one of those.

I'd like one of those too... I'm not sure I'll get one though as I think I'm going through 'mini fatigue' with all the recent mini consoles.

Also... I've gone for £800-£1000 which seems to be the average of my spending over the past few years. I should try and spend less what with my work and pandemic situation but we'll see what happens.

I love all the cosmetics the game has, generally speaking I'm not spending much on actual cards because the game is very generous with those (unlike Hearthstone which was notoriously stingy).

I spent £12.90 on a game board last night, it has three different music tracks to choose from, you click on a little dial to move to the next one.

The £99.99 I spent should last for ages, and leaves me with loads of coins to buy goodies.

Who wouldn't want a T-Hex to feel the highs and lows of tactical digital card based jousting with them?

Started some Ghost of Tsushima on PS5.

I’m not entirely sure why everyone is sucking it’s dick cause it’s Horizon: Zero Dawn in Japan. But, it runs super smooth on the PS5 and the combat isn’t too bad. Bloody camera is all over the place during a fight though. I’ve only got a few hours on it and there’s been several times when the enemy has wandered off screen and I couldn’t see him swinging at me or, worse, some scenery blocks the camera. I’d give my right testicle for some kind of lock on system.

The graphics aren’t too bad though and it’s a nice place to spend some time in. I particularly enjoy the swaying trees and grass. It really makes the scene come alive even when staring off into the distance.

I like it; I’m just not into Game of The Year territory yet.

I liked it from the off, but it took a few hours for it to really click with me, and once it got into that sweet spot it had me entranced right to the finish and deep into the endgame, which is where I normally lose interest.

There's no single thing it does transcendently well, but it does EVERYTHING at a 9/10 sort of spot, and when you add it all together it's just a majestic game.

IIRC I talked about it a bit in the 'What's everyone playing' thread, and there are a few rough corners in the opening hours, which were addressed with extra gameplay options that you'll have available to you.

It took me forever to get past the 3rd world boss. but only two or three attempts to beat the final boss.

I now expect to beat the final boss each run, and i'm surprised if I don't...
