Anyone fancy camping in the Lake District?

We normally head to the outskirts of Keswick for a slightly extended weekend (Friday - Sunday) in a brilliant place that we haven't been thrown off.

Post if you're interested in joining us* and what weekends are free and we'll try and get something organised.

What happens:

Drinking, Walking, The playing of hipster instruments, Taking Photos, Eating, Making fires, Epic RC action, Playing Flux / Top Trumps, Listening to music at a sensible volume, Looking for Slow worms.

*Hardcore of Me, MarkG, Baz**, Wullie & Kev (Pupil)***

**Non Beexer but lots of you have met him.

*** But he's in India at the moment.

Would definitely be up for this, but currently only September is good for me (and already have one weekend - 9/10th - booked out then).

Well, there was talk of a late summer camping trip too if Kev (Pupil) is back from India by then so I'd let you know.

Despite climbing Scafell on 15th, July out for me. September most likely, but would need a pass.

I think we should have more than one camping trip in a whole year anyway. It's insane.

Thanks for the invite but I'm always mega busy in summer (this year even more so) so it's just easiest for me to say I'm not available rather than try to plan around me. If by a miracle the date ends up being a weekend I'm free then I'll do my best. :)

The garden at Cottage is pretty big.

But would definitely be up for this someday.

I'm definitely up for joining in, but only have a few weekends free. If you pick a date, I'll come if it matches, but I wouldn't want to try to restrict you to the weekends I'm about. I would bring beer and sparkling wit, though.

Perhaps predictably, I am not around then - I will be camping, but in the Surrey hills.

I will be in Dublin, but also you talk about hiking, which just tells me fairly strongly that you suck at camping.

It's normally a walk to a pub with a stop at a pub on the way.

In fact, we found a nicer pub that's closer last year. With Vegan options! AND they even talked to us about Flux!

You're doing the opposite of selling this to Craster.

You don't have to book tables either.

If I was going for the Craster angle, I'd mention the abundant pork products on offer, but he's already made up an excuse about doubling or something.

Sweet. Needs more angle on his chair though.

I'm bringing a bin bag wing suit.

It's sounding more and more like you could also use a pair of banjos. Competing in some way.

Got paddles, life jackets and an electric pump for the kayak and off back up there on Wednesday. Going to stay at the quiet National Trust site we walked through on the way back from our walk. Can't wait!
