Well, as 2016 rings the bell then legs it down the street leaving 2017 about to try to stamp out the flaming bag of dogshit it left on the doorstep, here we are.
It's been a journey people. I'm not going to dwell on the dead, because there's 8 days to go, and everyone else will be doing that. I'm not voted "Best Dressed and Most Fashionable Beex Member" 6 years in a row for following the herd, you know. And not following the herd is exactly where we are are. We've gotten a Trump and a Brexit; a newer, poorer but taken back power UK in the making and a bus nobody wants to talk about anymore. So far, so good. Actually, it's terrible. We all know this but hey ho. Christmas is here.
Right. Happier things. Harriet was born on her birthday, which was convenient for administrative purposes and is now a Screaming ShitGoblin so now six hours or more sleep makes me feel worse than shirt blocks Other than that, she's quite a delight. Better than the other one. Who is potty trained and it was not as awful as I thought it would be. MrsA is fine and looking forward to returning to work, and so am I, because someone has to put fuel in the nursery owner's high end Merc.
Speaking of cars: Big Car passed the MoT after a bulb change with no advisories. Exciting Rover needs to survive to its MoT and then I'll either keep it, scrap it, or sell it for a diesel 75.
Socially, I had a blast. I've been really enjoying Netrunner Club in Leeds, and Homebrew Club at the Micropub seems to be pretty good and I really live brewing again. The MeatUp was brilliant, thank you Grim..., As was the Cottage, so thanks Crooked Quizmaster Curio.
So, next year! At home, we'll do the house up a bit more, maybe knock through a wall to make kitchen/diner and reroof the garage so I can brew more in there. I will get a new job as recruiters keep saying I am underpaid, and that'll fund more adventures. Maybe even go on holiday! With you lot, more of the same, please. That includes you, MrChris.
In summary, 2016 globally was probably awful, but locally, it was pretty decent.
Happy Christmas, and a merry new year. Get leathered, it'll take the pain away.
I remain your humble savant,
MaliA. King of the Space Pirates (retired), Master Brewer.
PS, I hadn't forgotten, but Julia B met me. I don't like to mention it.
