So, my desktop is so small that it's a wonder I've survived for so long with a wired mouse. The problem is that my mouse is not on the side of the keyboard, but before the keyboard.

Since i use a claw grip, the mouse shouldn't be too big (which i suppose takes logitech out of the picture), and under 50€, which excludes all the "g4m3r" brands like Razer and Mad Catz.

Any ideas?

I'm sure he has some opinion on this matter :D

I'd wait a while. Just seems deathly quiet today.

Needs some drama

You could look for a Microsoft mouse, although Microsoft's quality is very hit and miss. I have a wired one (aging) which has been great, but before that I had a similar wireless one which would lose connection all the time.

Only an amateur gamer uses a wireless mouse.

Why a "gaming" mouse? Wireless introduces a little lag, so "proper" gamers plug it in.

Nothing to do with your query, but I dislike wireless mouses, for some reason. They just don't balance right.

This is why i need a wireless mouse.

Another option would be buying a tenkeyless keyboard, but those are usually mechanical and i'd rather not lose the numpad.

Given you said no logitech, and I don't think I've used a non logitech mouse for about 2 decades, I don't have much to offer.

From my experience, most of the logitech non basic mouses are made for palm grip, being too big for my claw.

So you've already survived 30 years of wired mouses. You'll probably be ok for another 30.

The "gaming" part comes from my experience that non-gaming mouses have lots of "innovative" ideas like toothless wheels or lack of extra buttons. The other day i saw at this store this one:

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2428255,00.asp

Which i liked a lot, but it seems the wheel click changed between toothless and normal modes for the wheel, and doesn't act like a 3rd button.

If there's a "non-gaming" wireless mouse that plays the part in gaming i'm all for it, specially because they're not as ugly.

Can't really help I'm afraid as I've never had a wireless mouse and never intend to.

Mrs Hearthly had one for a while but it was intermittently shit and she's back on wired now. (The wireless one has been relegated to the media centre PC.)

I can check the Custom PC recommended list when I get home but I suspect there'll be nothing in their list in your price range.

Given your budget I'd be inclined to read through articles like this and take a punt on something you like the look of - http://www.pcgamer.com/the-best-wireless-gaming-mouse/

This looks pretty awesome but it's massive at 14cm lenght:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-G602- ... itech+g602

Heartly, that logitech is lovely, but is ridiculously expensive:(

This looks pretty cool, but it's 13cm (still a bit big):

If you have a look down the page they've got 'the best cheap wireless gaming mouse' and also a review of loads of others.

I want a mouse that makes that "mouse-click" noise that the BBC news have been using for about the last twenty years whenever they're doing some item to do with computers.

The only good wireless mouse for PC gaming is the Steelseries Sensei wireless.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sensei-Wireles ... s+wireless

Ouch, right? It's amazing though. I have a wired version and it's the most simple and comfy mouse I've ever used. Currently I'm on a £9 mouse, just to prove a point (I am heavy on the scroll wheel and I have killed two £120 RRP mice within months of buying them) and it seems my point is proven. A £120 mouse is made no better than a £9 mouse these days. Anything the cunts can attach the word "gaming" to automatically rockets in price.

So yeah, over the past few years I've done my nuts on gaming mice. Razer are especially shit, all of them having failed apart from one (my Boomslang 07, RRP £140). Saying that though even £70 Nagas broke (right click went, couldn't use a scope) just as badly as their entry level £40 mouse (developed a rotten squeak then died). I've also had an Abyssus snap off at the plug using it on a laptop and gawd knows what else.

All I can tell you is that modern products are all made the same way to the same standards, so for fuck's sake don't get caught up in a name.

I'm almost tempted to get this. It's fugly but I like the idea.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mad-Catz-M-O-U ... ming+mouse

Sadly I'm not even prepared to pay £40 for a mouse any more.

I've heard they are excellent if you like a claw grip. Ugh, maybe once I am done modding my PC I might get one but only if they do them in white.

Bastards !

Now on my wishlist :) cheaper too !

20 hours battery life on that gaming mouse? Jesus Christ, my Logitech wireless mouse lasts nearly 9 months of daily 9-5.30 use (except weekends, obv.) on 2 AA batteries.

Yes, from what i've seen, Logitech mouses have that "battery saving technology" that other brands don't. If only they made the mouses smaller!!!

So it would appear a claw grip is what I have. Who knew!

I use a logitech wireless mouse and get along just fine.

Have you looked at their M705

Sounds like it may be the closest logitech do to what you want.

Not overly a "gaming" mouse, but I found it OK for whatever games I chucked at it.

It's the opposite, really. Because I've got such big hands all five fingers don't tend to fit onto things.

I just prefer increased mobility. Palm grip is akin to running flat footed.

I genuinely didn't realise there was anything other than a palm grip. I am now more edumacated!

For the claw grip, do people just have tiny hands or massive mice? I can't even get it to work at all on my work mouse (bog standard Microsoft job).

Logitech make laptop companion mice that might do the trick for you. They're fully-featured, but smaller.

Mine's a few years old now and so discontinued, but here's a similar one:

The heel(?) of my palm rests just behind the mouse and my fingers arch over with my index and 'up yours' finger tips touch the front of the mouse, thumb on the left side of the mouse and remaining two fingers on the right side.
