Okay, demo dropped today any thoughts?

I had a right good go at the short demo level, ant I found it really quite good fun, though I suspect it may become a little repetitive.

Fun, kind of floaty, like there's this disconnect where it feels like everything locks on for you (there's probably a setting for autoaim...).

I found it hard to combine different skillshots, and it seems I'm not alone because I just went with variety (using the different ones each time, but not combining much), and ended up just outside the top 1,000 on the leaderboards.

Perhaps it is a simple level.

The pacing is a bit naff. Lots of bits where you have to slow down/stop for no real good reason (except perhaps the limitations of UE3).

Certainly fun though.

I'll be downloading this as soon as I can get near the Xbox. I've been looking forward to it, so hopefully the demo won't put me off.

I hope it reminds people that crazy FPS games like Unreal and Quake were fun, that it doesn't have to be all COfuckingD.

I like very much. The demo is kind of limited, but it's a nice way to get you used to the mechanisms. Plus, any game that calls me dick-tits in an effort to get me to buy it earns my everlasting respect.

It seems okay... it's a mishmash of a number of games (Duke3D's boot, The Club's scoring, Enslaved's environments, Just Cause 2's grapple, etc etc) so I'm not sure if it's doing anything especially well.

Not being able to jump is especially jarring.

The protagonist seems to be the result of genetic splicing twixt Marcus Fenix and Wolverine.

I feel kinda sorry for the green mutant guys, their cries of pain when shot and panic when bolo-grenaded are a bit disturbing.

It looks fucking nice, and the guns all feel savage and powerful. I'm not really the sort of person to want to replay a level over and over again trying to eke out a slightly better score, though, so I wonder how much I'll get out of it as I'm not sure what the multiplayer options are like.

Crackdown was somewhat cynically packaged with the Halo 3 beta key, but turned out to be a fine game in its own right. I'm not sure if Bulletstorm will pull off the same trick.

I quite liked The Club. However if this game is anything like it and doesn't have a story then it will not succeed at retail. I've always found that no one is interested in 'high score' games. They like a story.

There's a certain Scotsman who just paused at what he was doing, but is currently unsure why.

Worth remembering, though, that The Club also didn't have big shiny graphics and bombastic trailers and adverts all over the internet for months before its release. It also didn't look enough like Gears of War for Johnny Normal to overcome his fear of anything that might not be considered cool.

I thought the high scoring thing was pretty good and something I've missed from games of recent years.

I like Bulletstorm! Whether it's a day one purchase.. well, that remains to be seen.

Played it, got bored, deleted it. If they want a score attack FPS the baddies shouldn't need a clip or unloaded into their faces. Because of the amount of bullets the enemies soaked up I found that they weren't floating in the air as long as I wanted either.

I think that my interest would have been ramped up significantly if they allowed a near constant running-shooting gunathon.

Disappointing rubbish.

The Crysis 2 wasn't much better either, and felt like straddled an uneasy area between BF:BC2 and COD BLOPS. Mind you I thought the map was very very nice indeed and would have made a brilliant COD BLOPS map. And three shots of the sniper rifle to kill someone? It's in serious need of a hardcore mode. Much like Bulletstorm in my eyes!

If you haven't already, play the club. Most mooks go down with a few shots, even with the basic pistol. Get it on the funsquare, mind, for the split screen options.

It seems to get a lot of love on here and I'm sure I've seen it for a few quid in the shops so I might give it a punt one time. I remember liking the demo for that much more than this too.

I got it for about £3, and it was well worth it for three way (fnarr) split screen. Up to four if you can afford to pay more than two people to be your friends.

I only really got cracking on the singe player last night. It's very different, but lots of fun. Renwick, despite having very average stats, seems to be my unstoppable hero.

Fuck off, The Club.

Bulletstorm was quite a surprise, because it appears to have been written specifically for me.
For the first two plays through the level I was just laughing at the TV.

I fucking love it. And the multiplayer looks look like a proper riot.

The demo was no bad, eh? It's no that easy to get loads of points but I guess that's why they call them skill shots & points :D

After the moans I was a bit surprised that the enemies didn't suck up any more bullets than they did in Halol or Gears or UT3. Plus if you ping them into the air & shoot up their arse they'll go down like Craster when you put on your badger outfit.

Might end up the first game I buy this year.

Getting close to the end of the single player game and it's been quite a lot of fun so far. It's a bit formulaic, and the set-pieces ("You have 30 seconds to go somewhere in that vague direction! Go!") are a trifle wearying at times (especially considering the lack of a mini-map or HUD). But it's all about blowing things to pieces anyway, and shooting someone in the bollocks and then kicking his head off is... well, *grins* what do you think?

I finished this today (just the 7 months after everyone else and while everyone else is playing BF3). Well I finished echoes mode having completed the campaign last week.

The campaign contains some genuine laugh out loud moments - the best bit being the over the top sweary general who should have his own film. The skillshot mechanism works very well and makes you feel truly pathetic for just shooting someone for 10 measly points rather than launching them into the air with a kick to their 'nads then leashing them back and shooting them into a cactus with a shotgun for 500+ points. Echoes mode encourages even more experimentation and is pitched perfectly difficulty wise.

Having started the SP campaign of BF3 just to see what it's like the difference between an actual fun game and a po-faced turkey shoot becomes very obvious once you've played Bulletstorm.

It was in the 2 for £20 offer at Gamestation when I got it so it's definitely worth a play.

Best FPS this year, can't see anything beating it. I'm not counting Portal 2 because you don't really shoot things in that.

I got this for £1.98 from GAME's corpse.

I hated the demo, it came across as a needlessly sweary, Gears of War, bro-shooter.

But, I'm halfway through and ... it's actually brilliant. Lovely and colourful, interesting* characters and a hell of a lot of fun to play.

Really surprised.

* for a game.

I finished this yesterday. It's a whole lot more that I thought it would be from the demo - 'epic' describes is rather well (and not in the normal Internet sense, either).
