To a significant degree, this may well be a pointless thread. A lot of us are on facebook and twitter, and you may well have seen the links there already, or know the background.

On 22nd March, Dr Gaywood, Sista Flapjack, Mimi, Mr Russell, Myp and Curiosity, together with another close friend (Curiosity's brother in Law) are doing the 14 mile Marsden March - a walk from the Royal Marsden Hospital Chelsea to the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, to raise money for those hospitals.

Although each of them has their own personal reasons to raise money for this cause, there is a common theme that has brought these people together to undertake this foolish endeavour at this time. At the end of October last year, my son Ben was diagnosed with Leukaemia, and for the next three years will be receiving most of his treatment at the Sutton branch of the Royal Marsden. By and large, I kept this away from Beex until now so that I had at least one place to go to that wasn't 'polluted' with dealing with that shit, but things are as normal as they can be, and will get progressively more so, and that bolthole is no longer needed.

I won't be marching, although I planned to. A delay in moving forward with treatment a few weeks ago (not for bad cancer reasons, but a dull infection) meant that the most aggressive stage of treatment will now take place during the time of the march, which means I simply can't commit to it (certainly, can't raise money for it when I can't guarantee I'll even get near the start line).

I would also note that one of the marchers gets their sponsorship doubled by their very generous american based employer. Unsurprisingly they have the highest amount raised so far. It is no reflection on the other guys as monies have been directed to his account for that reason. Give the man a Chrome Star.

Anyway, for those who haven't seen elsewhere - the link is here. Team Village Idiots

Great logo, by the way.
Good luck with the fundraising.

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. It's fantastic though.
