If you like electronic music that is a bit goff sometimes and then sometimes it's a bit industrial and then sometimes it's a bit synthpop then you might like what I do.

Currently I'm celebrating having been doing it in a live situation for 3 years and in a way of shameless self promotion I'm giving it all away for free. I've spent countless hours on doing this and quite a lot of money on equipment/production etc so it would be awfully nice if you would at least pop over to my bandcamp page to have a listen.

A more easy general introduction to what I do is what can be found here though, actually Donkaster Elektronische Freundshaft Label which features a compilation of all our releases from 2013 to 2014.

So there you go. I've nothing to gain from you buying it (other than a nice feeling that I'm appreciated for what I do) but you've everything to gain by having a listen to see what I do.

Message ends.

Depends on what you like. Burn You is often considered our best track and it's a soft synthpop type tune. I rather like Fighters (the EP of which tends toward the upbeat). But then I like all of them.

Feral Nihilist EP is more toward the goth side. The Within and Echidna is a synthpop tune and an atmospheric minimal synth tune with no drums respectively.

The Ron, My Life With Her and Pulsing releases are more toward the electropunk ideal. Newer songs have a bit more depth to them I think.

Now there's a coincidence. I met you the other week in Salford where I was playing with my band THE Electric Cheese with Black Light Mutants and The Webb.

You're like the music version of Chinny.

What a small world! I liked them there Electric Cheeses. I'm not normally one for guitars but the general clean sound and catchy songs were good. Ones which used the cymbals a little more were less to my liking but yes well done.

Oh and Mr Nativity, how am I like the music version of Chinny? (that seems to sound like I'm somehow taking offense but I'm just curious). I'm older than chinny I was surprised to find.

He likes 80s games - Derek likes 80s music. What's harsh about it?

Cheers. I'll tape his cymbals up if you come to see us again. The other 2 bands were excellent too.

Yes I was mainly there for my lovely friends The Webb but I did rather enjoy Black Light Mutants too. No need to tape up the cymbals, just remove them.

I greatly appreciated the precise and technical nature of 'Cheese in that it was also musical with it. A very 'tight' performance I felt.

Ah glad you enjoy, thanks. :) I do hope you would consider downloading other stuff as well but just simply liking the Fighters EP is good enough for now...

Thanks for the mini review. It's good to get some constructive feedback. Do you do DEF T shirts?

Not yet. But I'm abolishing Donkaster Elektronische Freundschaft you see. (But that's only because I'm changing the name to Doncaster Electric Foundation or some such. Logo will remain the same pretty much).

Am d/l that stuff now to listen to at work. I like what I hear so far.

It's not free anymore mind you...Thank you for suggesting you like my music, it's not always that easily classified and generally of decidedly alternative tastes (though not always).

The compilation at http://defsynth.com is still free mind you.

I like the original name better.

I like the original name better really but the problem is people have a lot of trouble saying it and I think that can be a problem.

Abbreviate it to donkaster electroschaft. Keep the cool name and make it easier at the same time yo.

Oh! I'm so glad someone asked that! I've wondered for ages if that was you. Now I've written that I've no idea why I never asked you myself.

I have looked like that since 2012. But not every day obviously. Only when on stage. Most of the time I look more like Worzel Gummage.
