Everyone's favourite bumbling genius has declared himself in for the 2015 GE.

With this in mind I'd like to offer a few ordered predictions for discussion.

1) Boris will be parachuted into a very, very safe seat, and win. Actually he could be put in a marginal seat and win. Whatever you think of the guy, he's a political force.
2) The Tories will win the next GE, probably not with a majority but they'll bank on being able to govern effectively regardless.
3) Dave will step-down mid term. Either willingly or he'll be ousted for something or other.
4) PRIME MINISTER BORIS.

I sort of want to see it happen. I'm not sure why.

Boris is ace, but not sure I like the idea of him as PM

Is it wrong that I think Samantha Cameron is a bit of alright?

I'm leaving the country if Johnson becomes PM.

Paul Daniels said he would leave the UK if Labour won. 1997 was a landslide victory.

As for Boris being PM..? I think he's a total buffoon, personally - or at least, he seems to carefully cultivate this 'persona'. I used to think this was entirely bizarre and counter-productive; that the Great British Electorate would not elect a clown as their Prime Minister.

But then I remembered most of them are media-obsessed dicks, and besides, the proof would appear to be in the pudding etc.

Still, I suppose it could be worse...

You can't pass go if you're advancing to Mayfair.

What about if you're before Go, roll and move past Go, and get a Chance that tells you to advance to Mayfair?
Same go, innit?

This is exactly it. Hiding very right wing views behind a bumbling persona. Bush was never as stupid as he appeared, and ditto with Johnson. He's a corrupt arsehole who is playing on the comedy card instead of having actual policies. Well, he does have policies but they're largely reprehensible outside a few liberal ones thrown to appease the masses.

It gives me a wry smile that there are people out there who would laugh at Dubya and yet consider voting for Johnson. People can be so terribly stupid.

I hope he eventually gets the leadership post. It would almost certainly keep the fuckers out of government for a bit.

Would it? Say what you like about him, but he's certainly quite skilled at handling the media, which is a fair chunk of the battle.

I honestly don't think he would be popular enough across the whole country. I also reckon his propensity to say and do stupid things is not compatible with that role. It's why they are all so terribly bland, it's safer that way.

I'm utterly convinced that people would vote from him because they think he's funny and endearing. Which is terrifying and horrible, but still true. As Curiousity says, people are just so fucking stupid.

You only need someone with a bit of personality to whip up Joe Voter in the media, and you start getting votes.

Look at Nigel Farage. Vile man, with vile views, but an incredible personality politically speaking.

NOW LOOK AT HITLER! LOOK AT HIM!

I'm not convinced that enough of the people who bother to vote would want him for prime minister. I think it would be a huge misstep to think that a bunch of fucking morons in London voting for a comedy toff as mayor can be extrapolated to the whole population voting for a comedy PM.

But if he stands in Uxbridge (just about part of London) he might get elected as an MP (it doesn't need the whole country to vote for him) and then once is an MP, and when he stops being Mayor, he can become a minister, and once he's done that for a bit he can be a PM candidate when Cameron steps down.

think he is a great mayor.. don't think he would be a great PM, but from our outside perspective, it would be fun...
