That's rubbish Gaz... I had a root canal with a 50% chance of success once. I gambled, and won so good luck to you!

Also, will you have to go back to get a crown put on them? I had a plastic tooth/cover for a few days and that was a horrible experience in itself.

Yeah, I'll have to go back to have crowns fitted. Not looking forward to the whole thing at all.

Not the best news.

The physiotherapist has suspected that you have irritation of the nerve between your C7-C8 vertebrae with tenderness over your long head of biceps and pectoralis minor tendons. He has advised that sessions be twice a week to begin with and has anticipated timeframe for recovery to be about 10 week, however this is only an estimate and could change depending on how well you respond to treatment.

Better not mess about then. Respond positively to the treatment.

Got an emergency dentist appointment at 12:30 today for some pretty severe pain in my upper left jaw. I haven't been to the dentist in *mumble mumble* years so I'm not actually registered with an NHS dentist anymore. Spent a fruitless hour this morning trying to find a dentist willing to take on new patients, but no luck.

£75 for a private emergency exam, plus whatever treatment I'm actually going to need to fix the issue. I suspect a route canal and new filling, maybe an extraction.

Fun!

Me too! Worst case scenario is an abscess I suppose. Still, better to get it looked at and stop bloody worrying about it

An abcess is probably easier to treat than a root canal, though. They usually just bung you some antibiotics, and that’ll give you time to get on the NHS and get it sorted.

There should be emergency NHS dental clinics that treat unregistered patients if it is an emergency though. I’m sure my dentist said something to that effect once.

I think if you have the means to then it’s sensible. It might be worth pursuing both avenues at the same time. I hope you get treatment soon and get out of that pain xxx

90 mins later, £175 lighter. 2 injections, a lot of drilling and a rebuilt tooth.

No infection. Looks like a broke a previously filled tooth when I was flossing my teeth at the weekend and it exposed the root of the tooth. Fucking ouch.

Anyway, look after your teeth kids!

I’m sorry to hear that, Kov. It must be a terrible shock for you all at work. We’re you close to the person? Hopefully the company can provide some support to anyone who thinks they’d benefit from it.

I have worked with him for 10 years on and off. Had not seen him face to face for a while. We don't know the details yet.

The company are really good at offering support.

We’ve finally been caught by the COVIDs. Fortunately it seems to have happened on the way back from holiday rather than going out, and neither of us are too bad.
I’m more annoyed that I have tickets for Top Gun that I can’t use.

Oh, so sorry to hear that. How are you both feeling? Have you actually arrived back now? Rest well and get well soon. Hopefully you can get your cinema tickets rescheduled. Everyone in the movie thread says it’s rubbish so don’t bother reading there.

Yep, we were back on Sunday, then I did three days work with ten colleagues in the office for the first time in years, so some will probably end up with it too. It was only on Wednesday we started feeling rough. We’re fully vaccinated so it’s no worse than a bad cold.

There’s no rearranging or cancelling allowed so the tickets are up for grabs for anyone that can go.

It has been so, so, so very wet here over the last few months. Possibly the last 7-8 months even. Long term locals say this is the wettest they have ever seen.

And now, it's very cold too. I went to get a scarf and gloves from the 'winter things' drawer and many of them have gone mouldy, and those that aren't mouldy smell yucky.

Looking at local news and FB groups, there is a lot of this. the DIY shops are all sold out of those moisture absorbing crystal packs.

I put the winter drawer stuff into the wash to get rid of the mould and smell.

Including, belmingly, 3 beanie hats which were made out of wool.

I think I'll have to donate them to a kids hospital or something now as they are now teeny small.

I was bitten (or stung) by something a couple of weeks ago. I suspect it was a spider, but whatever it was I had a nasty allergic reaction to and my foot all swelled up with a nasty red, sore reaction and it’s really itchy and many of my shoes don’t go on. I’m in a long course of antibiotics four times a day, and not feeling great, but I can now swing from building to building very fast and I only kiss people upside down, which surprised the in-laws.

'tis what 'tis! Even the "new me" that is more capable of expressing emotions rather than locking them away doesn't seem to bat an eyelid at the death of pets -- perhaps just because we have so many, who knows.

A few Nays recently. The biggest one being a friend who's 14 year old daughter has passed away with a brain tumour. Absolutely horrible and I can't imagine what the whole family must be going through.

We've also had my wife's Grandad pass away at the grand old age of 96, a week before the Queen. Yesterday, I had to go with my mom to have her cat put down. She was 19 1/2 which is astounding for cats and finally, I opened the garage yesterday to see smoke coming out of the washing machine. Trivial compared to the other nays on my list but you can imagine how pleased I was when I saw it.
