No, shh, I'm having my birthday tomorrow instead.

And there's a while* to go before I'm 50.

*actual definition of "while" may vary

How did I find out that the screen in an office meeting room didn't have wireless connectivity yesterday?

When I received a very confused chat message from someone on another floor asking why I was trying to access their monitor.

On the platform, there were a group of runners in their mid 20s to mid 30s, about 8 of them. Then two older men turned up, late 40s, early 50s. One of them went round the group and gave them all big bear hugs, apart from one person, who received a firm handshake.

Initially I thought, I wonder what he did to not get a hug, but on reflection, I think he was probably just not comfortable hugging.

I guess I'll never know, but it just goes to show how easy it is to jump to conclusions.

In "MaliA talks to bass players" news, a continuing series of him sounding like an idiot

Words I actually said to the bass player "You can use your Tesco club card points to pay for the Euro tunnel"

You’d think, wouldn’t you?

But no, I’m just on Team Varifocals now.

I’ve always been long sighted, but now I’m long-sighted with a short-sighted twist.

There was one point at which the optician held the test card for the close vision test in the machine and asked if I could read out the top row of letters. I looked around and wasn’t sure what she was referring to, as all that was on the card was a 5x5 grid of dots.

Reader, those dots WERE the letters.

‘Oh no!’ We both gasped, then giggled a lot.

There was nothing anywhere near both times. I assumed military jets don't show. My son said the most recent one was coming from Dartmoor and heading towards Plymouth

I just watched a programme that had some interview segments with Jeff Minter, and I realised that, from a purely visual perspective, he is very similar to MaliA... just with long hair.

Thanks for that, (although as far as I can work out, I can only go back to yesterday) if it happens again, I'll try and look it up on this one.
