Oh, have you seen the ' finishing moves' when you punch a doomed titan?

Disagree. The grapple is good, and it's what I use for Frontier Defence, but the other tacticals are worth looking at and they are generally very well balanced. I particularly like Stim for shotgun/SMG classes and Cloak for Snipers/LMG/ARs with Ranger scopes.

I turned grapple off at the beginning but it’s now in my main load out. I spent a lot of time last night doing cross map grapple slingshots, which is currently an imprecise science.

I can't play multiplayer without the grappling hook. I CAN'T. It doesn't work.

I just don't understand how you're meant to be a JUMPY BOI without the grapple.

I done a grapple and jumped on to Cras's Titan and fired grenades at stuff. It was ace. Probably looked totally cool, too.

Try a couple of sessions with Stim or Cloak and see how you like them. Apart from anything else, it forces you to get better at judging wallrunning and double jumps, and then if you go back to grapple you can save its charge for when it makes a bigger difference.

I found Stim dead handy for CTF. Cloak didn't last long enough.

Do you mean the grunts/sceptres/etc in some game modes like Attrition, or do you mean the robotic Pilot characters?

Grunts and sceptre. Anything classified under "minion" I guess. I thought they were human players and I was 1337

Nope. Everything except pilots are AI-controlled, and they're mostly cannon fodder (although Reapers can give you a fright if you're reckless.) You do get points for killing them though:

Grunts - 1 point
Spectres/Stalkers - 1 point
Reapers - 3 points
Pilots - 5 points
Titans - 10 points
Pilot + Titan - 15 points

As the minions are always shown on your minimap, seeking them out and slaughtering them can be an effective way to get points.

Also, gives indication of pilot spawn points.

I like melting people with the Scorch, but I also like the ‘sweep the leg’ move of the Northstar.

The Monarch that steals a battery can fuck off. The batteries are already dead you twat!

The Monarch actually gets a shield boost from that, somehow, despite (as you say) them being theoretically dead. It's a Titan kit though, so they've given up a slot to get that ability.

I do like it when some arse rodeos me, gets killed, and then I hop out of my Titan and put the battery back in :D

I was left a bit underwhelmed by it, I mean it wasn't bad, perfectly decent but I was expecting a lot more greatness after reading the reports on here. I think you all got a bit carried away, like with Firefly.

It's merely very good until you get to Effects And Cause, which is superb.

I'm bit too fumblefingered and got easily annoyed by some of the on-foot wall running stuff, but overall enjoyed it very much. Big robot stompy-stomp.

I got annoyed with the single player section in the factory, where it decided it was a platform game which would just kill you for the lols sometimes.

I should pick it up and complete that section and do the rest of the campaign at some point, but I just prefer the multiplayer on the whole.

It was an awesome £12 game. It was a deeply flawed £45 game. It’s very enjoyable; but for the people happier playing nothing more dexterously challenging than a jigsaw puzzle, it’s deeply flawed ;)

I don’t have any of the live subs for any console as I simply don’t have much time to play at all nowadays. I reckon I average about 4-5 hours a month

That's what I guessed. Well, I think it's fair to say the SP is a total sideshow in Titanfall, like it is in CoD; it's very much a multiplayer game first. So this:
DBSnappa wrote:

is probably working as intended for the single player bit ;)

After a break of about two years, I decided to give Titanfall 2 another go, and it's bloody marvellous. Which is news to nobody, obviously.

BUT, I am struggling with the titans, if I'm honest. I suspect I'm in a minority of one, but the combat as the pilot is so nimble and balletic, it feels a bit of a chore when I have to get in my lumbering titan.

I've got to the fight with Kane, and I'm getting my giant metal arse handed to me because I'm seemingly incapable of doing much more than moving slowly from place to place, firing some missiles, then lumbering to a different spot, and firing more missiles.

Then I had a thought this morning, the Dash button - is one meant to use that almost as one would the roll button in Dark Souls?

It probably doesn't help but the best titanfall 2 bits in combat is where you are in a giant robot and punch another giant robot IN THE FACE
