Just watch out for the snow landing on them. There are only two platforms you need to walk on to get through to the end.

I left the Moths alone and you don't have to kill the second Crystal bastard unless you want the goodies near him (can't remember what they are).

I just followed the signs on the floor, assuming any are showing. Generally it's a straight line.

It does? Where? The one in the dukes archives grassy area did, but neither of those two did
I only bothered killing the first one on the second go round. Didn't notice any difference

I thought he was talking about that one after the second invisible bridge. I'm sure he was orangey but just guarding some items.

On the invisible bridges, they're mainly straight 'cept that one which heads back and can be found near the crystal lizards. That's a right crooked bitch that one. I had some rectal clenching moments crossing there.

Found that bonfire in the fortress.. sneaky placement, that. Fortunately, someone had recently written a message where I needed to look.

Not actually sure where I need to be going in the game now, so I'll have a bit of a break.

Ah, I'll have to have another nose. I killed the gargoyle there, but the only messages were helpful ones such as 'need head'

I am on the xbox, and it says it is RS, but I have only just found that out. Also, how fucking shit is it you can't be in a party, it is a single player game, FFS. Much worse than that is though, is that it brings up a dialogue which tells you such, but doesn't then allow you to back out of the chat without exiting. Worse STILL (and possibly the single shittest thing I have ever seen in a game), is that it then tells you that "you did not exit via the quit - progress may have been lost." WTF? It was your fucking exit routine you fucking bastard game! Just because you don't want me in a party, why not you cunts? Fucking hell, that is so shit!

Progress is saved so frequently, you'll have lost very little.

(And does not allowing partying up online make MW2 shit? As before, it's not single player ever unless you force to offline mode by, say, starting a party)

The only mode in BLOPS or MW3 which does not allow partying up is Hardcore Search and Destroy - in every other mode you can party up.

BTW a question - I was 'invaded' and killed by another player (i didnt have much to lose anyway so no big deal) what would have happened if i simply turned the machine off - would it have taken it as a death or how would it have handled it ?

(I would have been *very* pissed off if i'd have been invaded and killed about 10 minutes before when i had a ton of souls on me)

Which is why I specified MW2.

As far as I could tell, no penalty. Just restores to previous save as before.

Although I'd sometimes start a party to stop invasions.

I fail to see the relevance, this is a single player game where partying up does not affect the game at all - MW2 lack of partying was an attempt* to remove a cheating aspect in certain modes. Furthermore, MW2 partying did not break the game.

*granted a bad attempt.

But the invasions of other players into your world and you into theirs and the ability of summoning help affects the game and is one of the greatest parts of it.

What are you doing in a party while playing Dark Souls anyway. Dark Souls demands your full undivided attention free from distractions. No one should enter your gaming space while playing Dark Souls unless by appointment. Dark Souls will consume your every thought.

Dark Souls.

I don't know his name. It's on raised parapet with a broken rail on one side. You go through a white-out door, double back to climb up a ladder, kill two crossbow blokes, then go back down and walk across towards another bit of castle.

Oh the Taurus Demon.

He likes to be hit with fire. Just hit him from a distance if you can (firebombs if not a Pyro) and when he gets close roll through his legs (or around him) and get some distance on the other side.

Rinse and repeat.

Yes. tried this. Rinse and die is how it goes for me, because I don't get clear fast enough or far enough (or, in one memorable instance, roll off the parapet).

Sometimes is best to wear less armour so you can run and dodge quicker.

Well I'd kill more regular hollows to buy some better clobber (and level yourself up in the process) or strip to my underpants and try firebombing the bastard.

Also, I think you can run back to the archers tower and downward attack him (never did this myself though just read it) with the right shoulder button.

I had problems with him and came close a few times - you can obviously jump down from the parapet to hit him , roll around then climb up the ladder and do the same again - however my solution was to use a humanity point to become human , and summon someone (white mark on the ground just outside the bonfire) - the person who joined had a massive sword ( :hat: ) and killed most of the people on the way there with a single strike (including the knight guy who killed me a few times) then we both killed the demon (fairly easily).

I should probably add that *that* was the first point where i thought ****! - i had been round the little area a number of times , leveled up and thought 'I wonder whats through the next bit' - walked along the parapet and then ****'d myself when he arrived - i ran back and climbed the tower and dispatched the archers to find him climbing up after me (and i died pretty quickly) - then i had a careful trip back to the point (without activating him) to save my stuff and used an item to get back to the bonfire

This is what I did (without really realising what was going on). It was the first time I'd summoned anyone and I only did it because the option was there. Made that boss a doddle at least.

Made the mistake of letting my controller batteries run out last night against one of those Anor Londo giant knight things.. that was fun. Managed to get enough life out the controller to dodge and finish the fight off though.

Taurus demons can be an utter shit. Particularly as this is likely the first encounter you'll have where you can't block effectively and so have to learn to dodge if going hand to hand. Look forward ack and you'll find I struggled with him and came close to quitting. It was shortly afterwards that I became hooked.

If trying to go hand to hand, lure him up to the tower, keep your distance and attack when he leaves himself vulnerable. Don't get too greedy when hitting him. Make sure you dual hand your weapons as the shields is rather pointless.

Alternatively, you can plunge attack him while he's thinking of jumping up for a significant amount of his health, although that does lead to problems getting back up.

Fire is good. You also may have picked up gold resin to electrify your weapon, but as that's only one use, it's worth being able to get close enough to killing him without it so that you don't waste it.

One of the best things you can do with bosses in general is to learn how they behave without complicating it by attacking. Learn what the attacks look like and when he'll pause for a while to allow attacks. Haste will often lead to death

I killed the Taurus demon by nudging his groin until he fell off the battlements. Took another two hours of grinding levels until he didn't kill me with one hit, though. Now I can see a big red draggin guarding a gate and he look fearsome, so I went below and found a shortcut back to the second bonfire area. There's lots of knights around who cleft me in twain as soon as I glance at them, and again I'm left wondering where the game wants me to go next.

It seems to be quite happy on springing shit ambushes on you by forcing you down a narrow corridor which open to wider corridors with men round the corners. Which is shit.

That not everything was signposted was one of the things which sold it to me.

I like exploring, researching etc etc. This is the only game in years that has actually rewarded that.

I can see it shares a lot with Castlevania, so can understand where you come from and why you like it. I'm still finding it ungripping.

I like the exploration, the well put together world, the way that each enemy is a puzzle to be cracked, that there's actually some penalty to death, etc.

I like that it doesn't just feel like the same old stuff I've been playing.

Or at least ensure it's covered and keep your barn guitar recitals a secret.
