I have to say I've never had a bug in Fallout 3 that I'm aware of, beyond some very occasional clipping of NPCs and scenery. I bought the game about a month and a half after it came out, kept it updated and played it solidly for 150 odd hours in a 3 week period when I had a broken foot. Never any bother at all.

Skyrim, on the contrary, has been unplayably fucked for a time and remains full of uncompletable quests for me. I now look at that list for the 1.4 update and only some of the fucked quests on there are being fixed in this next update. This includes quests where the most obvious way to go against the terms of the quest breaks it irreparably, despite this being something that could be tested in five minutes once added to the game.

There's parts of this game that blatantly weren't tested at all but thrown in there on the basis that other bits which are similar probably worked.

I've said this before and I'll say it again - if you are going to sell me a beta, tell me it's a beta and I'll probably still buy it. No-one complained about Minecraft bugs.

I was expecting to hate this after I didn't get on with Oblivion but I'm proper sucked into this now.

Highlights:

A wooly mammoth and a dragon fighting each other. The wooly mammoth won.

Hitting my horsey by accident when I was trying to save him from bandits, cue him running after me for 5 minutes trying to hoof me to death, including following me into a little castle and chasing me up stairs. Then he ran away. :(
And the elderflower sanctuary or whatever it calls is a bit special.

Don't you have to rotate that yourself with the thumbstick?

No, you point the cursor at the circle you want to rotate and hit A.

You rotate the hand to see the symbols, but then you rotate the symbols on the door with A.

Whatever. I did it, just saying it wasn't just a case of pressing 'A' in case that helps Kov out.

I had that bug too, it was rotating it, just not showing you that happening.

It just does not rotate them. The golden claw worked ages ago, but not the rugby one.

Go back to that point from a fresh save, so you are coming to it now. Look in an FAQ for the order the symbols rotate in on the wheel, then count your presses carefully when 'solving the puzzle', as each click on the appropriate section will count as a rotation to the next symbol, it just won't show you it.

By the time I came across any vampire I was already a werewolf with 100% disease protection. I just had to stand 2 inches from their faces and eye acter at them for 5 game days.

Spent an hour or so today making Iron daggers, grindstoning them, enchanting them, then selling them. Rinse, repeat twice and level up twice. Made sone Orcish armor and enchanted that (+32 health) and a hat (+22 magic or somesuch). awesome game.

Always carry one around but if you reload an older auto save you may have enough time to get to a nearby shrine to cure yourself?

Yes, I turned after I slept in my house I had just bought, so reloaded before buying it and cured myself at the statue outside the temple.

Full set of Orcish armour made and enchanted with 'carry more stuff', 'more health' and 'more magic'. Also made a sword that sets things on fire. Still carrying a shield, but dunno why.

My new best friend is a Dark Elf Priest who sounds like Dick Van Dyke taught him to speak cockney.

Last night we scrapped with a Blood Dragon and two bears joined in. :metul:

I love how it's so easy to get sidetracked. I left Riften, intending to walk to my next quest location in Solitude. I hadn't gone far before I started investigating some of the unexplored locations that were popping up on my compass bar. Some time later, disoriented from my wanderings, I was... stumbling into the outskirts of Riften again.

Next time I'll just fast travel.

I am going to 'finish' Fallout 3 and then I'll probably be all over this. I can't get enough of Bethesda RPGs at the moment, it seems. :S

70 odd hours in and I've barely touched the dwarven ruins as I'm scared to go in there. And I've only fully learnt 2 shouts. Still got a fair bit to go I think!

You bloody should be. I wandered into one; murdered a couple of sentry bot things and thought I was doing well. Then I walked around a corner to see these two huge metal balls drop out of a tubes shortly before sprouting arms and legs and ruining my shit in short order. I never went back.

I've read this isn't true. Some large amount of damage from other NPCs when they are in that crouched pose will kill them. I've never seen it though.

I've been dicking around doing side quests and increasing my skillz and haven't found any dwarf ruins, yet.

Those bears are a right cunt! They are relentless when they see you and they always spot me way sooner than anything else ever has. I'd avoid them but I want their pelts to give to that moody bitch in Ivarstead.

No, nor me. If people want an immortal follower, go for Mjoll. Because she's a quest-giver, she can't die.

I've never killed my followers* HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST THIS?!

I've seen it happen twice now. Yeah, it's when the bad pixies keep on attacking them when they're crouched they don't get a chance to 'heal' properly.

*in game.

So glad I've been choosing archery perks and enchantments.

I'm killing lots of stuff with just one shot now when I'm sneaking about.
