My resting rate is around 80-90, my exercising rate goes off the chart!
I'm hardly overweight or unfit though, just some people are different, hence no point reading numbers on a website and doing any diagnosis.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, Gazchap. I'm sure he'll be okay! My Dad has just come out of hospital having had an operation to fix his buggered left knee. Bless him, last year he was in having the lenses replaced in his eyes due to cataracts. Next year it'll probably be his arms, then he'll probably need some kind of artificial heart, then finally a BIOS chip installed in his brain. By the time he reaches 70, I expect to have a fully bionic Robo-Dad. |

In the end, he was only in for a few days as he responded better than they hoped in tests after the op - it would've been longer if he'd needed more hands on physio before it was safe for him to leave. My dad is a very active man though and I sense he's getting increasingly frustrated having to hobble around at home. He has got one awesome scar on his knee though, with proper staples holding it all together. |

Having just read - because I'm an idiot - the NHS page about the TIBC test I had blood taken for this morning I can hardly wait for the results. I've changed focus though - while my chest was hurting earlier* I decided to check my resting heart rate a few times, and seeming low at barely 60bpm I went to wikipedia which led me to Bradycardia matching my symptoms almost exactly, possibly with a side of arrythmia. It's better than my liver and/or kidneys being (possibly) fucked and booze being a no-go. * This has been happening when I'm very stressed/anxious, which I'm not at the moment, and I've been particularly short of breath and fatigued all day, despite being more mentally alert than I've been in months. |

Hooray, I managed to check my rate while a wave of chest pain was in progress - it seems to correspond to my pulse being stronger and rate rising to nearer 70 except for some missing/faint beats. Um. I'm going to back away from the internet and look forward to being in the pub now - gotta get the pints in before they're banned. |

Rising to 70? That's my resting heart rate. Oh, and a nay of my own: I've lost a stone since last Monday through not eating. (no exercise either haha dieticians). If you've seen me I don't have that stone to spare! |

I'm supposed to ring in a week, like last time. Though last time they rang me first. I'm getting annoyed enough by the chest pain and shortness of breath now that I'll probably go in again before then anyway. And get a prescription for the steroid cream the dermatology consultant recommended this morning. And get them to chase up the other referral that's gone awol. Oh, and see what's happening with the varicose vein lasers, because I should've heard about those by now too. |

High intensity i'm up around 180. I'm 5'11", 12 and half stone, do a jog every so often (not as often as I should) and walk 7k to and from work every single day without feeling it in the slightest. Like I said, i'm hardly unfit or overweight, it's just one of those things. |

My resting rate is also around 80. Under heavy exercise it gets up to around 160. But I am slightly unfit these days and being an asthmatic on daily green inhalers doesn't help. 5'11'' and 14st6lb for the record. *pats tum* |

Dad's still in hospital, he's been there for a week now. Showing signs of improvement but no word yet on a discharge date. Mum was taken into hospital last night with a suspected stroke! Woo! |

Just heard back from the hospital. They don't think it's a stroke, they just think it's an infection of some sort that's knocked her about. With her MS and general difficulty moving about, the symptoms were definitely stroke-like so "we did the right thing bringing her in." Phew. They're gonna keep her in for a bit to keep an eye on her though, apparently. |

Going by how hard the doc was pulling (she had one foot on the base of the bed and you could see the muscles on her arm standing out) it was considerably better, though. |

The Girl was born in under 40 mins start to finish, The Boy was an hour and a half. There was no time for any drugs to kick in for either of them. It hurt. A Lot. |
