I also met her! I also love my first few islanders, then I got a horrible anteater and I wanted to ignore him till he left which Katie thought was very funny so she goes out of her way to talk to him :D

The shop in Flump gets remodelled tomorrow, so at least that seems to be more down to play time rather than me gentle progress through the game's tasks. Museum is closed for expansion today too.

Yes, mine also. I also got my basement today, so have a frankly surprising 1,600 slots of storage space.

I'll probably open my gate later today, but if anyone wants any of today's bits (that's a fortune telling set in the bottom right), just let me know and I'll buy and post it. :)

Argh, I need the popcorn machine if you’re not buying it,, but I’ll pop by and buy it later if it’s still there to save your bells.

I've opened up the gate for you to pop by any time.

Incidentally, it seems hard to find some simple black trousers to go with my jacket. Princess dresses, no problem, but trousers? Nope.

I saw that one yesterday, but unless it has been edited there are quite a few errors, and the author mixes up right and left a LOT, which makes the clarity of the instruction awful.

It's also presumably not complete, as I was sold a "flowery painting" yesterday that turned out to be genuine.

I think that may be Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ but in another confusing decision it only lists the real title rather than the in-game name.

Edit: oh, and it’s missing the statues, of course. It’s a shame, because it’s pretty to look at.

Thanks for my Plesio torso Meems! I'd put it in my museum but it's closed for expansion.

So I thought I’d start getting my bathroom together as now I have room for a separate bathroom rather than bathroom/bedroom.

I’ve got a new bathtub on order (it’s pale blue rather than dark green, so hopefully will be less stark). There’s a distinct lack of toilet, but I’ve not seen one of those yet.

Very different from my kitchen.

I had one of those given to me by a villager but it looked odd. Thank you, thoigh. I’m sure one will turn up. I’ve seen them around and am in no rush. In-game me obviously has awesome bladder control.

Just checked what I had available and no toilets at all in my game yet.

I'm still making do with my one room for now. Earlier I got a nice Throwback Skull Radio to replace the cute music player I had before

Thanks for the reminder on the fish, Dimrill. Took a few attempts to get a Marlin, but right after I caught one, the next was a Tuna, so all sorted. :)

I've seen a toilet but I can't remember where... It's definitely a forum/Twitter friend though as I don't know anyone else playing it.

Really?! Ah, thank you Jem!!! It even goes with my colour scheme! I remember sitting in your loo, too, didn’t realise it was pink! I’ve not put the game back on this afternoon but will
Install it in my little bathroom haven as soon as Darwin is in bed :D Thank you so much, Jem.

I love that everyone takes a pic on your loo. Did you have a shower too, @thevision?

Somewhat frustrated I can’t get IN the cubicle shower that I spent SO MUCH MONEY ON so had to pose in the nuddy (censored) outside it, but my perfect bathroom is complete!

So, I was wondering, and shoot me down if this is naff, if we should have either:
1: A separate thread, or
2: A dedicated post each which we could edit (either within a separate thread or in here and inked in the first post)...

Which we could use to list any doubles we had for sake/trade/gifting and also a wanties list for missing fossils, recipes, fruit, flowers, furniture... missing bits of collections, etc.

That way if there were (for example) a thread with a post each that we could edit any time that list changes, it’d be easy to check if anybody was in need of any of our fossil haul, let’s say. It takes me a good few minutes to find the lists of fossils people are after each day to send out, so it’d make that easier, for a start. Good idea, rubbish idea?

I'd been thinking along similar lines lately, perhaps people putting what they were after in their signatures, but a new thread where people just post once and edit their post accordingly is a better idea.

Also, I got an S rank for my home this week which seemed a little odd. I thought the size of the house would be a factor, but my half-arsed one-room house seemed enough for the HHA.

Nice!!!! I think my house is a B rank. I have the three plaques and a bronze statue, but I’ve only decorated half of my rooms.

I think perhaps a clean thread is a good idea. They always say that it doesn’t cost to make an extra thread. If the initial posts had been one for each player then it’d be easier, but I think even putting a link to a dedicated post in this thread would be awkward as you’d have to keep browsing back and forth, whereas with a clean thread you could just scroll through one page of posts (one each) that people could edit as needed.

I’ll wait for a few other voices to see if that’s the way to go or if there’s another suggestion.

They must have really liked the skull radio and armour boots :D

Today's accidental discovery - being able to jump over holes.

Anyone need a blue marlin? I just caught a spare. I forgot my shop is closed, so I won't be selling it today at least.

I think the ranking must be tied to house size. I only ranked B but had a higher score, so I think they rank you in the overall house decoration (which due to my three largest rooms being empty is probably quite poor in my case.

I wonder if they rank your basement? I think in previous games they didn’t, but I don’t think you’ve been able to wallpaper/carpet the basement before... Or maybe I’m misremembering.

also my Nooks Cranny will be closed for upgrade tomorrow!

edit: Devilman unfortunately I haven't found a way to give fish to another player
my shop has a full sized skeleton for sale today if you're interested, I will open the gates later as I play on our tv and we are currently watching lego masters competition
also you can sell at another persons shop so bring stuff over and sell it at my shop if you want

Visited the boat for the first time today and bought a bust of Nefertiti. If it's real, I'll give it to the museum; if fake, well, it'll look good in one of my three rooms. I really wish the animals would stop wearing just a pinny, however.

The museum is wonderful, and even when the game's novelty wears off for me in around 2028, I can still see myself taking occasional visits there.

Yup the guide book explains it well, last week (3 rooms) , i needed 47k for an S rank, this week (4 rooms) 60.. I got 70k, so I got a bronze HHA statue as well, (the plaques/statues are for the absolute numbers ,)..

if you want to reach that, - combine sets (that's why i made my kitchen completely Iron wood and total the panda bears), themes, place lucky items (like the Koi),

@miki, Redd said to me he’d have the painting I bought shipped to me for the next day. You should get the painting whether it is real or fake.

Yeah, I did flick through the ratings pages a few days ago, but I’m not actually after a high rating, I just want things to look as I like. I think the same is true for my town. It’s been on four stars forever and (I assume) still is. But I will just decorate as I see nice things, I think. But I think that’s what is so great: there are so many ways to play.

edit: Devilman unfortunately I haven't found a way to give fish to another player
my shop has a full sized skeleton for sale today if you're interested, I will open the gates later as I play on our tv and we are currently watching lego masters competition
also you can sell at another persons shop so bring stuff over and sell it at my shop if you want

Ah, I didn't realise it wasn't possible to transfer fish or bugs to other people.

When I log back on later, I'll have a nose if your gate is open and sell some bits in your shop.. thanks :)

And as Mimi says, the Redd purchases come through next day for some reason. The painting I've bought is apparently always genuine so I played safe and bought that one :)

My Redd had Vitruvian Man available, but it had a big water mark and coffee cup stain on the top right, so I reckon that one was a forgery. I bought an Ancient Statue instead which looked Jen You Wine.

You’re welcome, Dimrill!

I’m not feeling too good and had a sleep. Darwin changed a LOT in my house and town when I was sleeping. 8)

Of course I am also wearing the hot dog hat and dressed like a clown.

Still refusing to get his own house. In the game, too.

And you're doing it great with all your lovely designs... i'm a very creative person, but not in the home design way..Happy to combines sets though Weird thing is that I got an S the first week, and since then want to at least keep things nice and likeI have a plan (more than 'mix up furniture so that it least can function as a house, which I did in the previous versions;))

If someone has the neck of my diplodocus it would bevery happy.. it's head is currently flying half a meter from his rump...

Btw way, if you've got more players, you get the same selection , and since the girl with pearl earring, scary painting and detailed were all fake, my kids couldn't contribute... Dit get Valiant Statue (Nike of samothrace)..some conflicting descriptions on what makes that one fake, but since the rest was clearly fake... It's big statue, so that fills the giant empty room a bit
