Until Dawn is an excellent game and everyone should play it.
That's not bad at all. Sadly have GoT already (and completely untouched), but Until Dawn will be good (though I just finished Life is Strange so need a break from click-through-a-story-now-make-a-choice-type games for a bit.

Did they fix the game Ruining JC3 issues? If so, yiss. If no, mild yay.
There were game-ruining issues?

I recall at launch that it was running at 1fps in points and was largely unplayable
When do the new crop of games become available every month? I haven't paid attention as I haven't had a live PS+ sub for ages.
The first Wednesday of each month.

I had no frame rate issues but load times sucked. I'll be pleased to swap my disc version for a download
downwell seems to be well regarded as a simple indie game... and it has been ages since i played an assisin's creed game..]
Looks like the PS plus prices are going up in August. A year will now cost you £49.99 if you buy it through the Playstation store.

But you can at least delay this by stacking codes at the old price before then.

And for that reason, I'm oot.
Really? I'd be hard pressed to say that I haven't had £50 worth of entertainment out of Killing Floor 2.
I'm out of Auto-renewel then. :)

Also we've started getting full price PS4 games on a monthly basis. KF2 two months ago, Until Dawn last month, Just Cause 3 this month.
Also; reminder that ShopTo will sell you 12 months PS+ for about £36, so 10% off. (Site appears to be down at the moment -- DDoSed by people locking in today's PS+ prices, maybe.)
Also; I've saved my the equivalent of annual sub in additional Plus discounts on items in the sales.
The only PS+ game I've had good value out of was Rocket League, and that would've cost me £15. It's available on PC so I've moved to that now.

As much as I enjoyed GTA nights etc, I just don't have time for late evening gaming anymore, as Sal works 12-8 most days so it's the only time we get together.
Yeah, my gaming time is much more limited. Have to juggle my spending money between gaming and crashing planes now too.
Not even had time for iRacing the past couple of months. It's that dire.
Has anyone tried playing Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry yet? It's pretty rough to start with if you haven't played Black Flag (yeah, go on then, drop me straight into a ship combat section with no real explanation of what I'm doing) and compared to Syndicate the stealth mechanics are kind of random (can those people over there see me? Or not? Who the fuck knows!) but it settles down a bit one you're an hour or so in. And then the game breaks entirely! One of the first proper main mission sections has you blowing up a lookout tower by placing an explosive barrel under it and setting it on fire. Or that's how it's supposed to go anyway, but the exploding barrel doesn't actually do anything. Oh, assuming you can even find one because two of the four collection points for said barrels feature a nice red indicator floating in mid-air over sweet fuck-all because the game couldn't be arsed spawning the actual barrels in. After exploding four barrels in the exact spot indicated by the game to no avail I gave up and restarted the level only to get exactly the same result, so fuck that noise. At least this has saved me wondering whether it's worth going back and playing any of the older AC games I suppose.
The first one is pretty good
I gave it an hour.

I really enjoyed the boat bit although the HUD and the onscreen icons really irritated me since it was quite lovely to look at and didn't need all that shit. The giant screen spanning fucking rectangle to show the sideways direction of the cannons was ridiculous. The cut screens were terrible too and it was immensely jarring when you got about 20 seconds of crashing through gorgeous waves in an imminent storm only to be pulled away from the best experience which was traded for another shit cutscreen. Then the main game got going and it was meh city so I turned it off.

Do you mean 'cutscene'? I'm not (trying to be) a dick here, I've genuinely never seen anyone use that terminology before.

Seems autocorrected and I couldn't be bothered to correct it.

Ah, fair enough.
Put in a couple of hours of Just Cause 3 last night. It certainly gives you loads of fun tools for blowing shit up but I found myself running out of explodey type ammo pretty quickly and taking out a generator with a machine gun just feels a bit crap. Also, I always seemed to end up running round a location like a twat searching for the last billboard or fuel tank or something which is annoying; does the game actually guide you towards these in some way and I'm just being a blind idiot? Either way, I suspect the repetitiveness of it all will kill it for me before I'm anywhere close to the end but I don't mind playing it while it's being fun given that it was 'free'.
For some reason it took me a while to notice as well but it actually shows all the billboards and stuff on the map.
Yeah, even then they're sometimes tricky to find but you can usually work it out.

Pro tip if you're running out of things that explode - steal a helicopter or tank.

Ah, cool, I'll look out for that. Although it'll get annoying dipping in and out of the map constantly, it would be nice if there was some kind of indicator on the HUD.
It's not too bad if you just stick a waypoint marker on it.
Next month! Including VEE ARRR!

Infamous: Second Son (Ps4)
Child of Light (Ps4)
That's You! (Ps4)
RIGS (PSVR)
Truck Racer (Ps3)
Handball 2016 (Ps3)
We are Doomed (Vita/Ps4)
Hatoful Boyfriend (Vita/Ps4)
Any of them any good?
Getting a VR game is quite the surprise, pity it's some multiplayer bollocks. Also, the fact that the studio behind it is effectively dead by Sony's hand means it's a bit of a freebie from their point of view and probably not the start of a trend.

Infamous has always seemed like the most generic of generic open world nonsense, though I'd be happy to hear good stuff from anyone who's actually played it instead of my witless mutterings?

Hatoful Boyfriend looks cool and I'll definitely be giving it a shot. Though I worry that as a sort of satire of dating games it'll still include too much of the genre conventions to hook me.

We Are Doomed I know nothing of: what's it's deal then?
Oh, and Child of Light: played the demo ages ago, hated it. It wasn't really my type of game though and I was in the minority in not liking it so I reckon most people will think it a good addition.
We had That's You last month, didn't we?

I liked it - but it had the benefit of being one of the first big open world games on the PS4 and has some really nice graphical effects for the powers (i remember the firework one being really good) , however this was in the first few months after the PS4's launch and I dont know how well it will have aged.

Its also one of those games that once you've played through once (or until you get bored of it) thats it - you'll never go back to it

Photo mode was also a 'new' thing for this and was highly praised at the time

I also never really 'got' child of light so very little for me on there this month (although like you I'm interested in Hatoful (pigeon boyfriend sim!) - although to be fair i'd be interested in anything by Devolver

Yes but for some reason they are now including it again as a 'bonus' game - I guess with the shift in price they are going to look at making the PS+ list look impressive but if i was still on a PS3 i'd be pissed off with the selection for this month
Hatoful Boyfriend!? In.
Ah. ps3 owners had more than enough aaa games, didn';t they?
would have liked to try the psvita version of handball 2016 btw.. always wonder if those 'smaller sports' games are fun (apparantly rugby the world cup was horrible? (see Rugby Challenge, International http://worldofstuart.excellentcontent.c ... /rugby.htm )

i think btw they have positioned That's you a bit differenly anyway than a normal psn game , more communication etc.. next to it being available for a longer time..

but pigeons.. interesting
The aesthetic for We Are Doomed is facking horrible. I'd bloody love a new Geo Wars but I couldn't play this for very long before I had to turn it off.
So, Hatoful Boyfriend's a hell of a thing then. At the same time, it's somehow much more and much less weird than I was expecting because for a lot of it you're just doing school stuff and talking to folk; except sometimes you remember that the 'folk' are all different types of pigeon. To get a single ending only really takes about 20 minutes but apparently
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
there's like a whole secret story called Bad Boys Love that only unlocks after you've got some of the normal endings. The secret story is longer than the main game and explains the entire backstory to how this world came about and why a human girl is at a school for intelligent birds. It's all post-apocalyptic and (even more) bonkers and grimdark murdery and I think I owe it to myself to at least unlock that story to see what it's all about.

Also: whenever the dialogue would usually say "everybody" or "anybody" it instead says "everybirdie" and "anybirdie". Incredible.
It was weird as anything and I gave up after ten minutes.

My Little Pony has been doing that for years, bro!

"Everypony", "anypony", etc.
