The best one is the one where you can turn the undead into pirates.

"Aaar!" Souls, it's called.

This game is jaw dropping at times. Really getting absorbed into it now.

The regular menu freezes are a bit of a pain as are the occasional judders in game, but I guess it's pushing the hardware to the limits.

I've seen a couple on incidences of stuff floating in the air, but as I shoot fire from my fingertips and kill dragons with a one handed axe, I'm happy to believe there's some kind of storyline explanation for this. And some things with the speech menu, other than that it has been fine.

I cleared a barrow yesterday, and the details even on the small side quests are delightful. Up the 7,000 steps next. I love this game, as each time I play it, there's another little story for me to tell someone.

I had a fun quest to Dead Men's Respite & enjoyed a dragon fight with a spider helping to kill the dragon.

They are for enchanting, them come in various sizes, and can be empty, full or somewhere in between. To enchant something you need to use a soul gem that has at least some soul in it... more soul = stronger enchantment obviously. You can find them all over, or you can fill them manually with the souls of people and creatures you kill if you have a weapon with that particular enchantment to allow you to. You get given one such weapon reasonably early in main quest progression, so it's possible you already have one.

Basically that. You can cast a spell on aching to trap its soul after you kill it, or, what I do, enchant a weapon which does the same two seconds after I kill it. There's loads of soul gems about to fill, so don't worry about that. Then use the gems to enchant items.

One of the best ways of filling up lots of smaller soul gems is through killing Draugrs in barrows. The Draugrs that "come to life" out of the walls look subtly different to the ones that are stone-dead and don't bother you. Once you've learned the difference, you can cast Soul Trap from a distance on the feckers, before they've emerged from their niches, then steam in with your killing method of choice. Saves a lot of spell-switching on the fly and you can fill up a ton of soul gems in a short space of time.

God, this game has me now.

*stares at water spray coming off water falls*

This place is fucking HUGE.

*stares at snow drifting gently across screen*

I can't leave a cave or dungeon I stumble across unfinished.

*looks at fox walking into river*

Unlikely. Go have a chat to the bloke in charge of Whiterun, I think it is.. That'll set you on your way. Or pop to the College of Winterfell and have a chit chat with a wizard or two.

I also found a goats back end sticking out of the snow.

Not sure if that was a bug or a Daedric cult thing.

You should have an axe that has soul trap enchanted into it, then.

Most of the quest rewards are random, unless they're specific things like Daedric relics.

I don't have that Axe either and I'm up to that point in the MQ, Kov.

Just use the Soul Gems you find along the way for now. Go into your weapon menu and press RB (I think) to recharge.

In oblivion, used no soul gems. Skyrim I only used one, to enchant armour. Except the enchantment was so crap I decided I couldn't be bothered.

Also, I can't start the Companions quest line as every time I hit the training guy he winges at me for using magic. Great. I've tried doing in in the nude withal plain iron sword, but no luck.

I find I use archery much more in this game than Oblivion. So satisfying sneaking up on folk and setting them on fire with my enchanted bow. Want to level up enough so I can get the 'zoom in' perk.

I must have lucked out there, then.

What I'm doing at the moment is disenchanting any magical item I get to learn it and get the points up into that skill. I then make loads of daggers, and enchant them with stuff, so smithing increases, as does enchanting.

I'm reading spell tomes, oh ... and this new one is nice
Now the hills are alive with Ice Troll cries
But you know where you came from, you know where
You're going and you know where you belong
Because you checked the map, and you were not wrong

I do seem to have seen a small glitch. Where fox's, rabbits and some deer random run in and out of water as if it's not there and continue to walk underwater unaware they're drowning.

I also have dragon scale armour which is awesome. If I could only get good at enchanting.

I want this game world, with the combat from Dark Souls and up to 4 player co-op.

That would be the game to beat all games.

Personally, a smaller and more focused world would be more attractive. In this you can marry one of dozens of people. Except its so shallow as to be contemptible.
