ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Tried to use the Crystal Soul Spears but he was too quick and dodged them each time. Dropped him with three blasts of Homing Crystal Soulmass in the end.

I want that sword he had!
I believe I have that sword. I haven't used it as getting it was the very last thing I did in the game.

First playthrough the final boss was piss as I had solaire distracting him so I could easily go two handed on his arse and heal at will. Second time I was on my own and it was a 15 minute fight with stupid concentration requirements.

any tips for Nito Gravelord then? He kicks my azz.
I dont think I have the required weapon (occult?) to perma kill the skeletons.
The dance and spike thing he does hurts a lot too.

Well, the fire comes from him, not the sword. (see: how it goes out when he dies, the 'good' ending)

If I remember correctly some times when you hit him hard the skeletons he spawns crumble. I ignored the skeletons and Chaos Fireballed his ass in 4 shots and a few stabby stabs.

A divine weapon will permakills them. Aside from that, I can't really remember much. I think two handing a weapon is preferable as he can't be blocked. Keep an eye out for the area attack and get away quickly, and try to stay behind him. I think at the time I was rocking lautrecs armour.

Nah, not with the Chaos Fireball. Need to hit him from the front then he'll still have to walk over the lava it leaves (causing extra hits) to get to you.

That's the beauty of Dark Souls though, there's no right way, just your way.

Yeah, that was a melee strategy. The reason for the rear attack is simply to avoid taking damage. As before, I beat him first time both times, and that was my general tactic for most large bosses.

I thought he has a charging move that sends out a blast which knocks down the skele's in its radius. I think he only does it when you're close though. I got into a pattern of just jabbing the fuck outta him from behind or the sides and blocking the blast before repeating. If you get into this pattern the surrounding skele's won't be too much hassle as he'll be doing the charging move quite frequently and keep knocking them down for you.

You're best to walk towards him at the start too and face him head on. Don't go around the back as there are a couple of the big skelebones waiting. They wont who come after you unless you trigger them by walking nearby.

Ah right, that sounds more like it. Yeah, thinking back the Great Chaos Fireball is pretty short range so I must have been triggering that each time. Worked to my advantage though.

No, because they're too busy making a PC version so everyone can break the game through mods and pirate it.

That's shit that we have to wait for that first, but if it means they'll have more money for the next one then yay.

I was being slightly facetious. No pc version gas been announced. If it were, it'd probably be outsourced. It's more a comment on the general whinging you get that it isn't on the system owned by the master race.

Okay, what am I doing wrong? Every time I try and attack something, my pleb does an overly dramatic wind-up, then lunges past the thing I want to attack.

Pressing the guide button doesn't pause the game. That's shit.

Are you using RT? That's the heavier attack, while RB is the quicker, lighter one.

The lack of a pause has caught me out a couple of times on it.

Yeah, he just leaps to either side of the target and hits the wall instead with either attack.

The graphics are as rough as fuck on this, too.

You might be doing what I was initially and not locking onto targets - it makes a lot of difference when you're just starting out.

I'll give it another go today, but it left me cold last night. The voice acting in particular was delivered with all the sincerity of a 5-year old reading aloud to the class.

I quite like the voice acting in the game - it's very understated. I particularly like the bloke who sits outside the big, locked gate and the way he says '...closed.. still closed' under his breath.

There's hardly any dialogue in the game as a whole. Not like the speed freak gabblers in Skyrim.

Nah, excellent game Skyrim (what am much better than this bag of shite) doesn't do meaningless numbers. You're thinking of Oblivion there.

Everybody play Skyrim.
