For those pimping the article out: the next four parts go live one day a week all this week, each one at 13:37.

I tripped in a rabbit hole whilst negotiation the field of vexed cows yesterday afternoon during the walk with mrsA.

It's what "proper" sites do isn't it?

It's also habit forming, you get people coming back every day/week/whatever, and it becomes part of their routine etc.

Of course that's only useful if there is new content to keep them coming back.

Right, so what feature would we like to follow on from this article?

More reviews?

Another voting type thing?

This is the chance to keep the ball rolling.

If salting the earth is bad for stuff then how come an honest person is "the salt of the earth"?

it comes from the Sermon on the Mount in the Bible, although a bit tricky in translation, apaprently.

it's also the last track on the Rolling Stones Album Beggar's banquet.

We should do a vote fo our favourite 3 or 5 games of this year. Although it may be wise to wait until the end of the year I suppose.
We could do a vote on our favorite ever online games with bezzies. An article about that would be a good read I think.

Oh that's a good idea! My top 5 favourite hats. I think I know which ones I would choose already. So I could write a paragraph abot each one, explaining why I love it,any special features it has and my favourte moments then I could include picures and captions. This could be a real traffic getter!

That's just silly. Dune 2 was great, but only because it predated Command and Conquer et al. It's not a better game than most of its successors. And Warcraft was bloody horrible. Quite liked the second one, mind, though I only played a demo.

I think Dune 2's only been topped by Dune 2000, to be honest. I've never liked C&C and its spinoffs.

Huzzah! I never thought I'd live to see this day.

Would it be churlish of me to complain about the sub-editing? Probably. But I think only a total stickler for the rules would think my first sentence benefits from a "this is" at the start, and I'm pretty sure a plain "legally" would be better than "totally legal!" in the final sentence. If you only do one thing, I'd ask that you lose the over-excited exclamation mark. I'm too cool for that. Yeah.

Erm. Sorry. Well done everyone!

Cheers MaliA. I was a little concerned I'd made it too obvious that I'd rather be writing about Tetris...

Yours is a great write up on EvE, and if I hadn't seen friends willingly become unemployed thanks to the game's terrifying addictive power, it'd probably tempt me to give it a go.

Myp's review of Osu! Tatake! Ouendan!'s shite. Mine was better.

Quote:
Mr Ouendan gets very angry at his neighbour's habit of buying new television sets every six months. Consequently his house is surrounded by discarded working television sets. The television sets are precariously stacked and are a danger to passers by! In an attempt to stop this behaviour, Mr Ouendan dons a costume and becomes The Rumbelows Enforcer to force his neighbours to rent television sets that run on exclamation marks instead of throwing away television sets when they buy new television sets. Television sets.

I like both. May we have both?

Really digging the blurbs so far. Just a touch of nit-pickery: I think the last sentence of Deus Ex, paragraph 2 is lacking a 'not'. Maybe it's not (har); I haven't played the game. There is a missing apostrophe (and a hyphen between '300' and 'odd', but that's prolly just me) in the penultimate Head Over Heels paragraph, but I feel churlish even mentioning it, as that piece is fantastic.

On a personal level, a word or two on why Landstalker is potentially better than the Zelda series would be illuminating. Not a thesis, nor a gauntlet-throw, just a few words why devilman thinks so.

***

No, this most definitely does not mean mine will be perfect. Or even particularly good. ;)

[edit] And the list is making me want to play some games that I never have done. So mission accomplished already (for me)!

That's fair enough. As the the smaller write-ups are just a paragraph, I didn't really feel I could go into much detail as to why I prefer it to Zelda and still fit a meaningful description.

One thing I've just noticed that's missing... the format of each game. With some games it'll be pretty obvious but some may not know that Landstalker was on the Mega Drive for instance.
