However it was 800 points when i posted that link earlier today :-(

Looks like the 800 was a 'mistake' so if you got it at that you got a bargain :

I didn't notice either, and the fact you can't get up a list of what you paid, as well as what you downloaded, is shittypants.

I know some people rave about the Virtual On games but when Out Run, another Sega game was 800 and far better known, they're being rather optimistic asking 1200.

Indeed.

Sega, if you're reading this, I'd pay 400 for a straight arcade port of Space Harrier, so get busy.

Might happen, but probably not at that price. With the Wii's last update to the shop and arcade titles being available, arcade Space Harrier is supposedly on the way, but I don't know if it'll be the same 500 points as the other arcade stuff.

Arkanoid isnt really 800pts. the main menu shows that there are four 'episodes'. you get the first two for your 800.

so, I'm guessing 400pts for the last two (which takes the piss considering how easy it is to design and implement the levels). which will make it a 1200pt game.

Are the first two episodes long enough to warrant 800 points? If so, then that's not a problem. If it's just a half-finished game, not so much.

the price doesnt bother me as such. it's the underhanded way they've hidden the info that does. if you played a couple of levels and decided to buy, you'd never know that episodes 3 and 4 arent in the game. but you can see them in the main menu on the trial.

Eps 1 & 2 have (I think) 31 levels each, so you could probably finish all of that in a few hours I suppose, depending on how good you were.

I was quite enjoying it yesterday, but even if I finish 1 & 2, I certainly won't be forking out for the rest as I don't think it's strictly necessary.

Just for anyone else who cares, the 360 version has not fixed the "pummel yourself senseless" bug.

It's still worth trying to demo though because the 360 controller is a lot better for it. It's still turned a must buy into a "Hmm" though.

Arkanoid though, is very nearly as fucking awful as the DS one.

Has anyone played blazing birds?

Kind of like a badminton arcade game with weird metal birds on wheels with sticks as your players.
Pretty fun and only 400 mspoints, would be good to have a beteo tournament of it.

The above is a list of the achievements for the new Worms game. Here's hoping that it's a straight port of the classic Armageddon (with reference to Armageddon, Fire Weapons and the Holy Hand Grenade).

Why hadn't I heard of Assault Heroes until now? This game is boss, and a steal at 400 points; I really wish I could afford the sequel.

WAIT!!!!

AH1 is indeed lovely. Looks great, ultra-playable. Old school arcadey loveliness.

AH2 is HORRIBLE. The controls are slightly off (they lock to 0, 90, 180, 270 a bit which scuppers sharpshooting), the levels are overly long, the graphics are fussy and hard to make out and it's just shit overall.

Well now, I'm quite intrigued by this Yosumin which I tried the demo of yesterday. I hadn't heard of it before, however a spot of Google-ing reveals that it's been on the DS before, and I must say it seems better suited to the stylus control. Really enjoyed the demo though, and am strongly leaning towards shelling out for it now.

Got 800 points left over, but can't choose between OutRun, Lumines or Puzzle Fighter. I've played them all before on other formats, so I know what they're about, but I was wondering which had the better BeeX leaderboard action?

Blimey... I'd all but forgotten about leaderboards.

They were so easy to see in the old dashboard set up. They'd just pop up as you scrolled through your games. I enjoyed trying to claim as many top spots as possible (possible = not owned by Trousers).

But now it's all hidden behind button presses in that slow as shit NXE dashboard. ack.

Lumines seems a bit of a rip off (it's got a lot of DLC to add things that should already be there). I've not bothered with Outrun but Puzz Fighter is lovely (although I'd kill for a decent fucking dpad to play it with).

Outrun has atrocious leaderboards. They're unsorted and list all of your friends, whether they have the game or not. They're also hidden behind a bunch of menus; only your local leaderboard is shown at the end of a game. The Outrunning itself is lovely, as I'm sure you know.

I downloaded the BIonic Commando game.

Thus far it's fun in patches, but I am struggling to get past the lack of various abilities that out hero possesses (such as being utterly powerless against a knee high obstacle). It means that the heavy weapons bad guys are hard to kill, as they tend to crouch behind the obstacles and even swinging in and shooting them will cost you energy from bumping into them. Bah!

Plus not being able to move the screen, so every time you drop off a platform it is into the unknown is something they should have fixed.

EDIT - haven't given up on it yet though... just hoping it will 'click' soon.
