It's gone now thankfully, but was immediately replaced by a heavy cold (or possibly mild flu, hard to tell). I know that I have a weak immune system, but this is ridiculous. :'(

I found a lump in one of my lovely boobs the other morning, I'm pretty 'meh' about that kind of thing as I always convince myself it's nothing! Like the time I broke my foot and took 2 days to go to hospital because I was sure it was fine...Yes, I am a mong.

Anyway, I thought I should probably go to the doctor, (I haven't been in years, probably since I was pregnant, I have a new Dr. now as my old one retired) I tried to make an appointment for next week because I'm off then. However, the receptionist asked if it wad anything the nurse could help with as my Dr. was fully booked, I didn't know so told her what I wanted to see him for, she insisted I go in today :S

I feel a bit guilty to be leaving work early on the last day before an 11 day break and now I'm less convinced it's even worth the bother. Statistically, it's not even going to be anything. I feel like a right skiver....

If anybody calls you a skiver at work Flis, you have my permission to show them another formation of lumps - the ones sprouting on their head as you lay into them with mighty fists!

I'm sure it'll be fine Flis, best to get it checked for peace of mind and as a just-in-case. Nervous Pete's thoughts are with you during this ultimate-nervous period.

Fingers crossed, and a touch-wood yay!

I had to have a lump checked out on my man bits a while ago. Was rather scary, but much better to have one's mind put at rest. Well, maybe, maybe not, depending on just how many junior doctors are watching in the small room where the scary old man is touching you up. I still have dreams about that. BAD DREAMS.

My mum's cousin woke up with a third testicle.
Turned out that he had a benign lump that had been there for a while and just dropped down. He is totally fine now although he is - 1 testicle and everyone who knows about it trots out this anecdote whenever he or lumps on man bits is mentioned.

That means he's still got two, right?

Sounds nasty, but good that it dropped down, really, or who knows when it would make itself known.

PSN's still offline & I don't think my date went very well. Seriously though, I'm gutted. I was really looking forward to playing Portal 2 online.

Seriously, seriously though I really am gutted. The girl I went out with tonight is really lovely, but so middle class that I felt more working class than I ever have in my life. More chimney sweep than IT worker. I pretty much stumbled my way through the entire conversation.

Bollocks.

At least I have Portal 2.

Post subject:  Re: The "Nay!" Thread

11 years ago I was working with the blue cross in sheffield, they had a 3 week waiting list for dogs to get a place there so my job was to foster them until a place came up. In total I had 18 sets of dogs (groups of pups are counted as one set) go through my house and at one point I had 9 of them - 4 were found in the morning tied to our front door, the blue cross ended up relaxing the rules and took them the next day.
99% of them were 1-1 1/2 year old Japanese akita cross Alsatian, now these are a particularly difficult cross breed as as soon as they hit puberty the wolf (akita is a primitive breed) takes over and unless you know exactly what you are doing they push too hard and you lose any control over them. Sadly if this happens than they get classified on book-in as unable to re-homed/dangerous and are put to sleep, so the work we did with them to try and give them a chance in the three weeks we had was vital.

Then one day we had a knock on the door, local chav said that his "mate" had a litter of four puppies and he was going to drown them in the river if they were not re-homed. We go down there but he has already given away the three nice looking ones (border collie cross some rat thing) and there was only this tiny runty rat left. I said to him that if any of them were returned I would have them.
This rat thing was so tiny, her eyes were barely open and the umbilical cord was still there, I put her inside my coat to keep her warm and spent the night feeding her baby milk with a pipette. The next morning we had a knock on the door and there was chav with a pup, I was told he refused to eat dog food and cried all night long. I took him in.
A month of carrying puppies round in my coat later we named them Penny and Oreo and soon they were ready for re homing, which was a real wrench after what we had been though to keep them alive. In the end my parents agreed to take them in.

Few days ago Penny started panting and they found a lump on her neck, she didn't respond to the anti-inflammatories and was distressed, so this morning she was put to sleep.

rip penny, you barked at my gran for no reason, got in all the cupboards and looked like a rat but we loved you anyway.

Yes, younger than my g.f., and both are still in their 20s. Thankfully it's definitely not a stroke. The doctors at the neurological hospital should know around this time tomorrow, apparently. I hope it is something easier fixable...

1. Decca - very sorry to hear of your loss.

2. Flis - it wasn't just a wayward Sugar Puff, was it?

3. We got a letter from HSBC saying that there is 'a charge' on our office premises and the landlord doesn't have permission to rent it out, thus we could be evicted if HSBC exercises its powers to sell the property with vacant possession.

4. We have rat(s) tunnelling under the back of said premises. The council rat man has laid a trap.

5. The landlord's contractor hasn't cleared the debris left over from the work he carried out when we moved in. A nice man from the council has been to speak to us about it as we may be fined if it isn't removed.

6. It seems that you have to be registered with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority to be allowed to deal with low value Road Traffic Accident claims and we are not; we are registered with the Min of Justice for claims handling. They also regulate the people who operate the portal for RTA claims. I think there might be an anomaly there.

Post subject:  Re: The "Nay!" Thread

7. Our gas and electrickery supply also feeds the premises next door, as it used to be a single office, thus we are paying someone else's bills. Luckily the tenant is rarely there as he runs a mobile tyre replacement service, but even so, it's not cricket. The landlord knows all about this, cos we told him, but we have no idea when he's going to do something about it.

8. Our landlord sent us a bill for just under £800 for buildings insurance payable 'immediately.' But there is no mention of this in our license and it seems jolly expensive. We have advised him to stick it up his jumper, but in fairly civil terms.
