Not unless you count herding an opponent's lemmings off a cliff.

Right, I've moved a lot of Peggle-related chatter out of here and into the Peggle thread. As there's a bit of crossover, let me know if I've moved any across that you'd rather were in here. Cheers.

I was really interested in the new Puzzle Quest game till I saw the price. "Greedy bastards. Don't they know there's a recession on?" was my immediate response, then late last night I nearly added to my account to get it but relented at the last minute.

The price didn't phase me. Hell, I paid £30 for Puzzle Quest on the DS and considered it money well spent. What put me off were the so-so reviews.

I played the demo and enjoyed it, although it didn't grab me as much as the original. It's just the gall MS (or the devs) have to raise the price when people have less to spend. Probably I'll end up getting drunk one night and buying it (as is the case with most of my Arcade purchases).

Well, again, I don't see this as raising the price. It's £30 on DS and £17 on PC, why should the 360 version be cheaper than any other?

For something tangible that you could put up on your shelf/sell on/give to a friend once you were done with it. I don't see 1600 points being good value for anything you are effectively renting (I don't want any silly buggers to throw cars into the mix here).

If it was a boxed retail purchase this would be fine...It's more that this is probably the beach head in setting the expectation of paying 1200 - 1600 for other future Arcade titles (no matter of the quality).

1600 points is, what, about £11? £19 less than I paid for my DS copy. So it already is pretty heavily discounted to reflect the lack of secondary value. You could very nearly buy it from XBLAH and buy two of your mates copies for the same initial cost.

Acccording to Jonarob on WoS (he's got a press release) Outrun 2 Online Arcade will be the completely reasonable price of 800 points!!!

THANK FUCK FOR THAT!

So we all need to buy it ok!!?

Do you think it needs it's own thread to get games going?

Considering I'm buying the same game for the third time I am VERY EXCITED.

Is Perfect Dark 64 coming to XBLA?

http://kotaku.com/5206174/perfect-dark- ... -xbox-live

Quote:
This screenshot from developer Rare shows what appears to be an icon for its Nintendo 64 first-person-shooter Perfect Dark in an Xbox LIVE folder.

That's funny, because the game isn't out on Xbox LIVE as a re-release. It would make sense though — Rare has started bringing other Nintendo 64 classic titles to XBLA. (Case in point: Banjo-Kazooie.)

IGN contacted Microsoft about the image, and the company replied it had "nothing to announce at this time." We are following up with Rare.

Yep, I'm definitely buying it then. I've only got Outrun 2, so I don't feel like I'm buying the same game again. (isn't it half of Outrun 2006:C2C?)

Why you utter Microsoft cunts.

I put Outrun 2 in on the 360 for a quick spin before tomorrow and there was an update for it so I applied it and now it appears to be fucking broken. Now it may be co-incidental but it worked before and now it doesn't - just as the game comes out on XBLA.

The leaderboards worked though - none of you bastards are on there other than Burai.

You what!? They wouldn't be mad enough to do that would they?

I'm not on the leaderboards as I play it on my Xbox Classic. Till tomorrow!

Amazing how few people were on Xbox Live on the 1st gen Xbox. They really got it rather right this time round didn't they?

Hence my top 100 ranking on nearly every Time Trial Leaderboard - I bet I can't scrape the top 1000 once the XBLA game is released.

Oh I agree, but to be fair I didn't buy my Xbox 1 until a good while into the 360s life. It was £50 with 4 games from argos. So by that point there was no point hooking it up,

That and it is bought to be an XBMC anyhows.

Outrun 2.

Outrun 2 Online Arcade is now up on the marketplace on xbox.com if anyone wants to queue it up.

Review up on Eurogamer http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/outrun-online-arcade-review

Sort of sad there's no mission mode but then it means no arseing about to unlock the F40 etc before steaming in to the Time Trials.

Points spent! I'd been saving them for this. Now to get the wife to power on the 360 so it'll be downloaded by the time I get home from work.

Same here. Only the wife is out with the boy for his extra lesson when I get in so it's quality time with daughter night tonight until wife returns.

I'm thinking 'quality time' involves showing a 3 year old how good Daddy is at drifting.

Will Outrun 2 360 Arcade (Megablast) download be needing it's own thread?
