@Grim... I adopted her a giraffe a few years ago and she was very please but thanks for the suggestion. The problem now is finding George a wife who can live with us in the house,is about the same size as him and looks like a giraffe. I have seen tall metal ones before but Jen told me that George wouldn't like the look of them as he likes a traditional giraffe.

Jeez oh I'm terrible at that. One of my friends shortens her words to a ridiculous degree to fit it all in one text and I usually just end up calling her because I can't be assed deciphering it.

At least you won't need a name tag to be spotted.

If the suit is good then she shouldn't be spotted at all.

I can't believe I actually read this thread! I was hoping it would help me plan what/where we are doing/staying in Manchester.

19 pages and all I know for sure is that the meet is (probably) going to be in Manchester in February! :)

Any idea which area of Manchester things are likely to be happening? I'd like to book a hotel sooner rather than later. As it's my birthday, I'm planning on making Andy pay for a nice room and take me to a great restaurant the night before.

I still maintain we should all book the same hotel and play hide and seek. I am scared I might miss something fun otherwise.

I was in a really lush hotel in Manchester a few months ago - it was decorated like the inside of a whorehouse. Mal Maison, or something? We should stay there.

Malmaison is pretty central and very near the train station, if I'm thinking of the right one? Dunno what price range it is though.

What was the Portland Street Ibis that everyone stayed in for the MB meet like? You know, the one Darth tried to throw me out of the window of :DD You know we're going to end up in Fab Cafe anyway, being such a bunch of geeks...

£160+ per night for a standard double room, from the look of it. Too much, probably.

Yeah, I'd have guessed 3 figures and upwards... it overlooks some of the nice canal-y bits too.

I used to walk past the Ibis pretty much every day.

Interesting that being called Scouse is considered a worse insult than being called "the most wretched of oafs"

So has anyone booked anywhere to stay for this yet? Me and myp were calculating with science how many people my place can hold, but I can't remember what number we came up with, and whether we were serious about hanging a hammock above the main bed ?:|

I've not yet investigated a hotel, but I think if most of us book into some convenient little cheap hotel then all will be well, and the cool kids can have people into their room and drink even more booze and then be all cliquey and awesome.

Sounds like fun.
