As Kovacs said; they're stuck on a spaceship they know very little about, and are lost.

Kinda like Star Trek: Voyager meets Castaway meets Lost, but without being as shit as that sounds.

Oh man, you're missing out.

Doesn't he poke someone's eyes out in one film, then push them down a lift shaft? Or was that someone else?

Why would he push the guy's eyes down a liftshaft? That's just mean.

Under Siege is genuinely pretty good, in a mindless action flick sort've way. It's got Tommy Lee Jones at his Tommy Lee Jonesiest.

On Deadly Ground, as I'm sure I've mentioned before, is hilarious. I can sum up its wonder in four words: "Directed. By. Steven. Seagal."

Holy bollocking FUCK, but this series of Dexter has been good. I have absolutely no idea how they're going to top the Thanksgiving episode.

He asked his mum about skull-fucking and she said it was when a man shafted another man's eyeballs. Got confused.

THIS!

I don't think Dexter has ever had a bad episode anyway but yeah this season is intense.

Dexter losing control was ace, then going mental in the car. Loved how the family jumped to Arthur's rescue, too.

I really should get back into this, I started watching the first season, and watched about 6 episodes of the first season back to back whilst very drunk, and couldn't remember which episode I got up, and stopped watching. I guess I've left it long enough to go back and just watch it from episode 1 again.

I'd forgotten about all those little details. It was an excellent episode, you're right, and with only three episodes to go I'm not even remotely sure how it's going to pan out.

Rita is still incredibly dull.

I'm currently besotted with 30 Rock (and not just Tina Fey). I ploughed through the first season in a couple of days and am half way through season 2.

Splendid stuff, especially when compared with the stodgy, ponderous Studio 60.

I have only watched a few episodes of 30 Rock, every time I suggest it Jen doesn't feel like watching it :(
TO be fair, we have been busy with other shows. Watched the first series of Greys Anatomy despite not really fancying it. I was very pleasantly surprised. It is actually really good and very funny at times, the guy who plays George is great. Also have series one of Californication to watch on DVD. I also have about 3 billion episodes on my sky+ of South Park.

Oh I've watched True Blood, I saw it when it was on FX. Loved it, can't wait til the next series. I got the books for my little sister as part of her birthday present and she raced through them all in a few days and then told me the series was crap in comparison after one episode so I got annoyed with her :p Think she managed to get into it but it's put me off reading the books, I think I'll save them til after the show has ended.

Hmm, that looks interesting. I don't like the fact they mention Gossip Girl, since I saw about 10 minutes of that show and was rolling about laughing and quoting the most ridiculous lines from it for ages as a source of amusement, but hopefully this is better :p

Everyone I know (admittedly three people) who have watched the show and read the books say that the TV show is WAY better than the books.

In other US TV news, Stargate: Universe is excellent.

Episode 8 (entitled "Time") was probably the best episode of anything I've watched this year. A lot of it involved familiar themes from other science fiction thingies, but it was executed excellently, ended really well, and was, overall, bloody awesome.

Not sure how well it'd work as a stand-alone, since you really need to know the characters to an extent to get the full effect, but it had my attention throughout and was awesome.

(Sadly the next episode is kinda dull)

S4 is currently only on in America , so those people are either :

Watching it in America
Having friends in America record it and sent it across
or much more likely downloading it from teh interwebs

I had not watched *any* dexter until about 3 months ago and since then i've watched S1 / S2 / S3 and i'm 9 episodes into S4

I notice that HMV has The Wire complete box set down from £WTF to £60. Might be at £ZOMFG in the Jan sales.

She has been a real pain this year , and i'm still not convinced Dexter is out of it all - all of Trinity's family know him by sight , and although Debs has not put 2+2 together she knows he's the Ice Truck Killers brother

There's a ton of stuff left to resolve.

Not only does Trinity's family know him but also Batista saw Trinity in the Homicide Dept talking to Dexter. Surely all the photos that will emerge of Arthur will trigger that memory. Then they'll remember that Dex was in the garage before they arrived.

Then there's the fact that Trinity killed the annoying woman. That'll lead back to Dex.

I wonder also if Trinity set himself up as the bludgeoned man for this cycle and so are we missing a jumper?

Currently enjoying the first series of Life. Considering I'd never heard of it when I spotted the DVD, it's actually quite entertaining as a fairly lighthearted crime drama.

Also, when is decent telly coming back to Sky 1 (and FX)?

SG:U, Lie To Me, House, Fringe, Bones and Modern Family all took breaks over the Xmas holidays and have yet to return.

Plus there are new series of 24, Lost and True Blood to come.

Also, will they bring back Breaking Bad to FX, which they inexplicably stopped halfway through the excellent first series?

Breaking Bad has been on Freeview, "Fiver" or "Five US" or something.

House and Bones are back w/c 18th, I think. 24 and Lost start this month, not sure of the date. As long as they don't start before my Sky+HD turns up, that's fine.

I'm most of the way through the first season of Breaking Bad. It's really good!

Only downside is it's taped off some US channel so any swearing is muted out and nudity fuzzed. The actual content of dissolving people in hydroflouric acid and so on is obviously fine once they take out that stuff though.
