Now, whenever Zardoz describes some sort of image, I reply with a "photo name" in Bold italics, because that's the format he used in the photo thread. I'm pretty sure that just killed the funny, but there's the explanation. |

It was early for a winky confirmation scan, but Mrs Z had a scan a couple months in after a scare and this one was slightly later than normal. We saw the burger at Baba Z number 1's scan but this time we saw two balls and a winky. He's going to be a tripod just like his Dad. I'm cock sure. |

No, no, no! Everyone else can do it, but you can't. You have to settle for a YEEAAHHHHH in situations like the above. |

We've already congratulated you, your moment in the sun is over! We need solid evidence of balls and winky before we can properly start whooping and hollering. For all we know, it could be a burger! ...just like his dad. |

FWIW, I find the descriptions of babies' privates as burgers and turtles really a bit disturbing. How can you look on those scans and see anything, though? Whenever I have looked at them all I have seen is a grainy blob-shaped cloud. 'Look - there's its head' *peers*... Huh? |

First day at college today. Getting to go two days day release to finish the HNC in one year. Missing half day on a Friday so I now get a half day on a Thursday Best moment of today so far was when I went to the canteen for lunch, had one mouthful of the soup and had to throw it away for being terrible so I took a wee drive and discovered an M&S petrol station just along the road now I can eat BLTs for my lunch, yum! Zardoz-glad you're pleased. My sister is due in December but won't find out what she's having, she wants it to be a surprise. I want to start buying baby clothes! Zio-I'm really sorry you're having a tough time and I agree with what Mimi has said. Although I'd maybe be a bit more severe and suggest taking a break from each other for a few weeks. I think you need to learn to live independantly before you are able to make it as a couple. Anyway, back to class for me. Got CAD all afternoon so this should be a bit of an easy one. If I get a computer log in at least! |

Hiya everyone - I've just this afternoon become a Grandad for the second time of asking, so thought I would proudly announce that fact. Teen Angel#1 duly delivered a 9lb bouncing baby boy ('a real chodder' according to Teen Angel #2) to join his 7-month old cousin. Me? I'm thinking about the Yamaha PW50 already - a motorbike for three year olds with gears and everything. Finally the quotient of males -v- girlies in the Cavey household has now been tipped firmly in my favour. |

Still, the Taittinger Prelude's on ice; I reckon proud mum and granny well deserve a few glasses between them over this lovely coming weekend. Quote: Isn't 9lb pretty hefty? Is the little chap going to end up like Geoff Capes? He's quite large but not massively so; apparently 10-11lbs isn't that uncommon these days. Still, he'll be a strapping lad no doubt, dad is well built and all my girls are very tall (granny is nearly 6'). |

I wonder how many times the basic idea behind the headline for this will be repeated. Quote: Sony's battle to block the distribution of a hack for its PlayStation 3 (PS3) has been won in an Australian court but lost on the internet. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-11176441 Quote: The court ruled on Friday that a ban on distribution of the PSJailbreak "dongle", first issued on 27 August, would be made permanent.
However, on Thursday the software code behind a similar hack was released free on the internet as PSGroove. The hacks allow homemade games to be played on the console. While the PSGroove software was specifically designed not to allow the playing of pirated games, as PSJailbreak does, it has already been modified by other hackers to permit the practice. Also on Friday, it emerged that Sony had filed a US lawsuit against Zoomba, the firm that runs shopPSjailbreak.com, a site selling the device. The lawsuits specifically name the PSJailbreak device - software loaded onto a USB data stick - but reports have surfaced that the device has been replicated and could soon be widely available through other vendors. The Australia ban prevents resellers OzModChips, ModSupplier and Quantronics from importing or distributing the device in Australia, and names the supplier as Chinese firm China Sun Trading Limited. The court order demands that the distributors hand over any stocks of the dongles, China Sun Trading to send any ordered dongles to the court, and calls for as-yet undetermined damages to be paid to Sony. OzModChips posted an apologetic message to its Twitter account on Friday, saying "Sorry 4 the lack of updates, its been a long day. Bassically the injunction still stands but its not 100% over yet. Not allowed to say more." The BBC has learned that distributors in the Netherlands have received substantially similar court documents banning the sale of the dongles. However, the court's action was pre-empted when another group of hackers decided to develop and release PSGroove, the code behind the hack, on the internet. Mathieu Hervais told BBC News he was one of about 20 hackers involved in PSGroove's development. "We want people to run the software they like on the system they paid for without it having to be licensed by Sony," he said. "We released it on the internet because we believe in openness, choice and innovation from everyone. "We understand (games console makers') point of view as well when it comes to protecting their income or business models, we just believe compromises could be made to keep everyone happy." Sony declined to comment on the court cases or the release of the open-source code. |
