A more promising month this time. Excellent.
My PS name thing is, predictably:

Last month was fantastic! It's just that I had already bought them all.
Boughht a ps4. Add me. I'm romanista345

Is ps plus worth it?

Goodness yes.
I have downloaded the May and June ones. Which are the best and worth playing? I've had a quick go at Guacamelee, which is good fun, though needed to get going a little quicker (I am terribly impatient these days).
Race The Sun is good fun.
SUPER EXPLODING ZOO, MUTHAFUKA!

There is no more sensible way to spend £40 for your new PS4.

(Got the invite by the way!)
That MGS game is pap.

Pretty underwhelmed with the 'free' stuff on PS+ for the PS4.
I quite liked that Skulls of the Shogun thang. Seemed a lot of fun and humorous. I might return to that at some point.
Iv enjoyed The Unfinished Swan and Chase the Sun but everything else has been meh so far. Was ace being a PS3 latecomer as there was a great title almost every month for me to have, now though there's slim pickings due to the age of this generation I guess. I'm sure it will improve. Grumble over.
I've enjoyed Guacamelee and Super Exploding Zoo, but both are very much 'little' games, like I'd play on my phone or something. So I kind of feel since I get very limited time on my PS4 that I should spend time on GTA, Witcher or Mortal Kolbat instead.

Play Guacamelee on the phone??? You probably haven't reached the last bossfights for sure.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris (PS4)
God of War: Ascension (PS3)
Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones (PS4, PS3 and PS Vita)
Castlestorm Complete Edition (PS3 and PS Vita)
Sound Shapes (PS4, PS3 and PS Vita)
Limbo (PS4)
And here are the games leaving PS Plus in August:

Rocket League
Styx Master of Shadows
Rain
Mousecraft
Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved
Entwined

Finally, an excuse to play LIMBO again. And God of War: Ass is assmazing.
I was thoroughly enjoying GoW Ascension right up until my save game corrupted about two thirds of the way through. But, yeah, much more fun than I was expecting.

Did anyone play Styx this month? It's on my list and I was curious what people thought?
is that the "good" lara croft game?

I don't understand the question.
Its the isometric one / follow up to 'temple of light'

(Yes, I know it's not a Lara Croft game)
Prices are going up - £14.99 for the quarterly option (from £11.99).

Still a frickin bargain, though.
LIMBO truly has the greatest noises in any game ever, doesn't it?

Huh. That's rather uninspiring.
WTF TWISTED METAL ONLY PS3 :(
Is that the car game shooter? That was awesome.

Evil Sony. They should have made a PS4 version three years later just to give to people on their subscription service. :(

Exactly!

I loved that shit when it first came out. Absolutely insane game, with massive arenas given the power of the console.

I don't know, there's genuinely good stuff there. Heard v good things about Grow Home and La Mulana. Not much in the way of big-box AAA business, but better than some of the underwhelming, half-baked indie that often finds its way to PS+.
I know not the same - but in the hotukdeals thread about this months games there is a lot of whinging and then this post

Love the PS+ comments :)

"awful"
"Horrible month."
"This is one of the worst months in the history of plus"

Grow Home (Steam, 9/10) http://store.steampowered.com/app/323320/
Super Time Force (Steam, 9/10) http://store.steampowered.com/app/250700/
La-Mulana (Steam, 9/10) http://store.steampowered.com/app/230700/

Weirdly, slap them three games in a Humble Bundle and it's going through the roof, offer it to console games and they be all like. "CoD or nuffin!"

I'm interested in Grow Home and Super Time force - I'd never heard of La-Mulana but it does look interesting
Almost every game has around 9/10 on steam, so that's not really much.

I hate this rating system that steam and rotten tomatoes use. It just measures the consensus of the film/game.

Fuck yeah right people think Shawshank Redemption is a good film the Dicks.

Alternative - Metacritic (yes i know its worse for your 'average of averages' but)

Grow Home - 75 - http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/grow-home
Super Time Force - 80 - http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/super ... orce-ultra
La-Mulana - 80 - http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/la-mulana-remake
Where is there a '9/10' rating displayed on Steam for these games? There's a Metacritic rating but that's out of 100 and the Steam user ratings are a % as well.

I'd swear when I looked at them earlier there was a line with a 9/10 on the steam page just below the trailer videos but when i look now its not there.

You like Save the Last Dance. Your opinion is invalid

Not exactly Shawshank Redemption, but this system rewards movies like The King's Speech and Lincoln.
I like the look of Super Time Force Ultra (and probably Grow Home) and whilst my initial reaction was meh I'm glad to try out something new even if there is no big AAA that I've probably already played.

Tl,dr
Has anyone used a playstation TV to play PS4 games on a second screen?

Refitting the second living room as a playroom and its directly above the living room where the Virgin router is. PS4 is ethernet cabled to the router so would only have one WiFi leg, which works fairly well to stream Prime on the same smart TV so thinking that could work (likely only the boy would use it a lot)

No, but I have used a Vita with the PS4 for remote play and it's effectively the same technology. It should be ok for Apple Slice - a bit of input lag but over the same wifi network should be fine.

I must insist that anyone who

1) likes Metroidvania style games
2) doesn't have much time for lengthy gaming
3) is actually interested in playing decent games,

give Xeodrifter a whirl (especially if you've got a PS Vita) because it satisfies all of the above and, in my opinion, is reet good. Videos of it do no justice whatsoever to how responsive the controls are and how it's a decent little Metroid-lite slice of gaming.

Almost finished and recommended already.
