Dear Craster,

Beex.co.uk is showing the 123-reg.co.uk page. Is this a temporary outage whilst DNS updates, or will it soon be taken over by sites dedicated to the female form?

Dear Craster,

Although the main site was working for me this morning from home , at work it still displays the 'board is down' message.

I assume this is due to the DNS not being updated but is there any alternative address i could use (other than the mobile version Grim... has posted on his twitter)

P.S. something about Badgers

Love and hugs

Z

It was me messing it up last night. It should now (or should soon) work fine.

Dear Craster,

http://www.beteo.co.uk shows me this -

Quote:
Hello.

If you can read this, you're either looking at the root of my IP, or fullonrobotchubby.co.uk, or I've missed something out of my apache config. If it's the latter, please get in touch and let me know.

matt at fullonrobotchubby.co.uk will get the job done.

Ta!

It's probably just cached DNS, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

For me :

Helga works (god bless her!)

http://www.beex.co.uk/ gives me the 123.reg holding page

http://www.beteo.co.uk redirects to http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/

and both give me

"Hello, lovelies.

The HSMX Network is down for some more essential maintenance, which will work this time, promise.

Follow @grimdotdotdot on Twitter and I'll tweet when it's done.

Kisses,

Matt "Grim..." Squirrell "

Oh and is there no way to get into draft PM's on the mobile site ?

Probably not.

You other issues are (I hope) caused by DNS caching - there are plenty of ways to flush your local DNS cache ("ipconfig /flushdns" on Windows, for example) but caches are often stored by various devices (from your router right up to your ISP) so you'll probably have to just wait a bit.

If it's any consolation, I have to use helga.hsmx.com too :)

I'm aware that there's a problem with the mobile forwarding, I'll get onto that. I'm also aware that uptojump isn't working - that's a rewrite problem.

I probably shouldnt have stored something important there then (its okay I can get into the 'real' site on my phone and can forward the message from there to me so i can collect it :-)

Already tried refreshing but since its at work i'll be stuck waiting for the systems to catch up (it did work fine for me at home this morning and works fine on my mobile)

It'll be written in your address bar at the top of the screen.

Craster was having problems with the original address last night, I don't know if his are gone away. Try following the instructions about clearing your cookies on the login page the next time you have to log in (they're on the left). That might help.

I'm not convinced that dig tells me what I need to know about the variable parsing the various pages do before forwarding on. But thanks, pro :)

People using the http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com URL that are having cookie problems might want to try getting the 'old' site to clear the cookies by clicking here, in case there's something properly strange going on.

Post subject:  Re: SERVER UPGRADE

That's weird.
To confirm - is it logging you off all the time, or when you close the page and come back again (or follow a link "within" the forum, as it were)?

If it carries on after 72 hours (so ~midnight on Boxing day) I'll move the entire forum to http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.co.uk and let it recreate them all on the new domain.

markg wrote:

Ah, that makes some sense - the banner is hardlinked to http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com and drops the "sid" variable from the URL that the forum is using to keep you logged in in place of a cookie.

So, er, stop doing that. Maybe use the breadcrumb menu at the top of the page instead?
