I have a bottle of isopropyl and swabs on standby for this problem.

Usually if it goes, it doesn't come back.

But it's not looking so great.

Obviously, it's now far out of even the extended warranty.

Do you want to buy Mr Daves replacement xbox so he can get a slim one? ;)

Hold on, We had the three segment RRoD in the exact RRoD configuration, but the Eggbox was fine - the power brick had gone replaced that and it worked fine.

Have a look to see what colour light shows on the power brick when you try to boot it up.

And get the brick off the floor if it's an old one - stand it on some bottle lids or match boxes or something.

Thanks for that! I've propped the PSU up and yes, the light is going green when it powers up. Now that I think about it the room lights were flickering a bit last night so maybe it was just a very short powercut that upset it.
Anyway I'm not going to let it die :)

Add more lights to it. Then it won't be the 3 red lights of a dead xbox, it'll be the eleventybillion lights of awesome!

Good plan. And the heat emitted will keep the snow cold!

The light on my PSU goes green too, so I'm going to assume that part is OK.

Thinking back, there was a thunderstorm going on at the time. Might have had something to do with it.... Ooops. Nevermind, it's off to MS this week anyway.

You should probably bake it a bit though, just to be on the safe side.

It's actually quite odd (and somewhat uncomfortable) to think that that XBox is over five years old.

I'm sticking with 2013 for my prediction of when the Xbox 720 is out.

I did the overheat/reset thing and managed to watch two films on it last night without it crashing again, but I guess a reflow of the GPU is in order.
JC would be laughing his head off.

So do they go all out for 360 stuff at E3 for one more year , or do they start to drop hints for it in then ?

It was getting tiresome resetting it every day so I've tried reflowing the gnu (GPU) with a hot air gun.
Just stress testing it by watching 60 minute makeover on skyplayer.

If that don't fix it I think I'll be buying myself a slim for Xmas.

'Holiday 2012' is now what I'm hearing.
