Yep. 42 quid which isn't too bad. Better than spending a couple of hundred on an complete replacement.
That's not bad. I would test it first though with a battery, make sure it's not the amp.
It still makes a noise, but it's rattling and cracking as soon as there's any deep bass and as far as I can tell it's the speaker rather than the amp that's at fault. It's an old paper cone with a rubber surround that's got a hole in it already so I think it's had a long enough life.
If it does turn out to be the amp I can always send the speaker back for a refund and go shopping for something else.

Update on the teeth situ. Good news at last !
So I went back to the dentist and she said the extraction site was infected (oh joy) so could not perform the procedure of cutting open the site and grinding back my jaw. Instead she poked around with a sharp looking instrument and a syringe with a needle on. None of it really hurt. Any way, I had noticed after eating that the site would swell up a bit and where the hole was where the tooth was taken out a sort of bubble of skin would come up. All very strange. So basically it remained like this for a couple of weeks.
Then about four days ago I woke up and when I put my tongue where the tooth used to be I felt a sharp edge. It kinda felt like I had a razor blade in my gum. Cue a bit of poking around and out comes a reasonably large shard of something. I don't know whether it was tooth or bone but it was a good size at around 3mm long.
Since then the site has now closed completely and even though the skin over my jaw feels a little thin it hasn't caused any more problems. Woohoo ! so I would imagine that this shard of whatever it was was moving around inside the extraction site causing the irritation and swelling when I ate.
So all that remains now is to go and collect the bottom denture that she took a mould of the last time I was there

Fair Play! I thought this was all but dead in company's these days. I have a mate who used to work for Saatchi & Saatchi in the 90's and said they gave you a trolley of booze in the office on your birthday!
We used to go out all the time in the week 15 years ago, but now with kids etc I just can't be arsed with a bad head or warm kidneys:)
You should watch it bit though as if you are on every night it will do you in, hard when the company culture is pub every night I guess though.

You've got people you work with. Then you've got work mates whom you'll have a chat to. You'll go to the pub with these workmates for a 'quick one' after work then roll in at 1am having redefined the strategic vision of the company. Over time, these work mates might become pub mates who you'll not actively seek out, but share a bit of banter with. These pub mates might one day become aquaintances in your orbit. Over more time, they might become friends.
A big problem with going for drinks after work is when people start talking about work stuff when we're off the clock.

Yeah, I agree with all of this. Obviously you're not going to work to make friends or anything but you spend such a massive chunk of your life at work and talking to people at work that I feel you really need to get on well with them. Or some of them at least. If I worked in a team full of people I wouldn't be happy going to the pub with I'd probably change jobs.
Every now and then it's ok. Can't imagine going out during the week or every Friday with colleagues, though. I get on with everyone at work just fine but we all want to go home and see our families and friends after work. I have at least some aspects of my personality that are split between work and home, meaning that if more than just a couple of close colleagues from work are out I just don't feel relaxed in the same way.

Usually we talk about gaming or fried chicken, take bets on who the CEO will bum a cig off of, and if the karaoke bar down the road will take bookings at midnight.

I think I agree with that. I'll go out for a meal and beers two or three times a year with my boss and colleague but that's about it. I am happy to keep at arms length. I am not Facebook friends with any current colleagues and only a few former colleagues (but, we know I son't administer my account personally). I don't think being friends with the boss is ever a good thing.

Nah, work and home life is separate. I don't have anyone I work with on Facebook. If they leave or I leave and I want to stay in touch, I add them then. This doesn't happen often.
