That's good, as that is where we are going.

Although i'm not entirely sure what defines a "good" strip club?

Is the perkiness per pound ratio greater or something? :D

I had a whinge on Eurogamer earlier about their Dead Rising review and I've decided to start a blog again because I seem to be writing lots of lengthy stuff about games (and pretty much anything I can argue with someone about), almost to the point of becoming John Coffey :D. I think it's because I don't write anything any more. Bookmark it!

Funnily enough, I've also just been perusing the pages of Eurogamer, but in this case to look at the new screenies of Batman Arkham City. Now that is a game I'll definitely be buying, it looks fucking amazing.

I got mightily covered in piss!

Funnily enough, my whinge is currently +42 in comment karma (the highest in that particular comments section by a country mile, and the highest I've ever got, I'm sure), and one person even suggested I step in and review the game instead. :D

I also have reasons to be happy however; my wage rise which I didn't receive this month is being started as of my next pay date at the end of September and is also being backdated, so that will be a nice wee bit of cash to buy a new lens a surround sound system Christmas presents with. I am also due to start my new college year at a new college tomorrow and have just been told an hour ago that I can do two days a week at college if I want to complete the course in one year, so as I am back at the stage I would have been at if I hadn't been off for most of the year. :) So by the end of this college year i should be caught up, plus I should be starting a new two year course. So when my apprenticship finishes in a years time, I should be halfway through a two year course which should give them a bit of an incentive to keep me employed :)

A third reason to be happy is that my girlfriend is off work this week so when I get home she should be already making dinner and then we can go a walk along the beach before settling down to start season five of House. :luv: (I've been looking forward to this series for ages, I remember seeing a trailer of it and it was all about 13....)

Nice one! Just make sure you don't get over-taxed.

I got a Death's Head 'graphic novel' (more a trade paperback, technically) out of the library earlier, but it's massively misprinted, skipping from page 178 to 215 without any sign of any pages being torn out. Hmm.

Had an interview scheduled with Michael Gira, of Swans/Angels Of Light renown. Not only did his PR not give me his number before interview time, but my Skype recorder decided my trial had expired. Purchased in a panic, was told to expect an authorisation code 'within 12 hours'. Got another one. Had to reboot. Tested it. Phoned. Got told off, as it took a while.

Only really pupil, Dimmers and maybe Zardoz will know who that is. I'm sure the rest of you can laugh though. ;)

I had kidney stone-induced renal colic on Tuesday and ended up in the hospital. Again.

This time they gave me something called Dilaudid intravenously for pain and it was like being punched in the face with happiness.

This does not sound joyous.

That said, it's sufficiently technical that I don't know what it is, so every cloud, eh?

I spotted the latest issue of The British Journal of Photography in WHSmiths yesterday and had a quick flick through. One striking image that will stay with me was of a naked man laying backwards on a piano with his arse hole and scrotum on full display. Thanks for the tip, Pete.

I don't know if any of you remember, but my Nan had a fall a few weeks ago and has been in hospital since, and for the first time in my life I have not been able to speak to her every day :(

Whilst she has been in this hospital/rehabilitation/physio place I haven't really been able to find out any news from family. 'She's fine, loving it there' etc is all I could find out, which I knew wasn't true. I managed to get someone to agree to take a box of chocolates in to her, slit open the seal and wrote a letter to put inside t let her know that I was OK and thinking of her. I didn't know if they'd take in a letter, and was quite sure they wouldn't do so without reading it first.

Anyway, she opened the chocolates the next day and found my letter :D

What's more, she has written back and got one of the nurses to post the letter. Also, in another handwriting (I assume one of the nurses) is the direct address that I can write to her on whilst she is there :DD

The last bit of the letter amused me, so I include a snippet (I know the handwriting is bad - she used to have beautiful writing but she only has one hand and when she fell that was the wrist and hand she broke, so she now has to write in shaky capitals to be able to write at all. Oh, and she can't spell for toffee)

Sending letters is great! It really shows someone that you care and are willing to make the effort to stay in touch.
