Are you suggesting that someone, in the past, has smashed C's back doors in?

Heh. For those that haven't seen it, my bedroom door is...well, 'improvised' would be generous.

Interview tomorrow and Thursday.

I really want the gig tomorrow, TBH. Assuming it turns out to be what it promises on the tin.

Asked for a pay rise last week. Got told yesterday I'm getting a 40p rise. Woo! Extra 50 or do quid a month.

I assume that was 40p an hour?

My pay rise this year was just over 1%, last year it was 2% the preceding 2 years it was nothing. Currently living off my Overtime (being on call every other weekend)

Could really do with my Take home pay being my pretax pay!

Yeah an hour. And apparently the union for the area I work with is forcing another rise or something too, so it might go up even more :D

Been asked to return to the job I had before I went to Tennessee - only a short contract initially but could lead to some more things and at least it will get me out the house.

kind of a mini-yay, this.

I had a necklace that kind of meant a lot to me, but it's really been in the wars and got into a terrible state last year.

I didn't think I would ever get it back to how it looked, but after a bit of time and patience with silver cleaner, it's back to some shiny glory.

I'm so relieved and surprised to get it back to looking like this!

Mr Virgin Media turned up this morning as the internet has been fairly rubbish since I got back from Amsterdam...he looked at my prehistoric modem and declared that this was probably the issue and that he'd swap it out for a super hub thingy. As normal I offered the gentleman a cuppa and left him to sort it out for me. Got back and found that he had upgraded me from 20 meg to 60 meg and everything is working as it should.

Lovely.

Think I need to start posting here, as it is all too upbeat for the nay thread...

Griffs clotting time is down to 19 seconds, so they have officially taken him off the transplant list and downgraded him from 'acute liver failure and multiple organ failure' to 'chronic liver failure with hepatic jaundice' which hopefully is treatable with diet (extra calories and fluids) and oral medications (diaretics)! He has gone from 50% mortality when he first went into ICU to 'good chance he will recover fully' Basically, he is bright yellow which hopefully will clear up over the next few months. If it doesn't, he may need a partial transplant, but it is not urgent any more and there's every hope that it won't come to that.
He still needs to be weaned off the last medications, but they are down to 1 IV which is currently off in the hope he doesn't need it any more but there if he does...
All in all... YAY!
