*In this country anyway. Is it still legal to chuck animals off towers in Spain? Bullfighting's still legal there, isn't it? Odd country.

**Particularly photos of some blokes just holding a goat. Also - how do we know that there isn't a bouncy castle at the bottom of that tower? The goat could be having fun.

They do, but some of the goats still come away with injuries or worse. I remember quite a stir about this one year but I don't know if it was subsequently banned or not. It is done as part of a festival because some historical person (saint, perhaps?) apparently fell from the tower and survived, so for some reason they figure this means they should throw a live goat out of the window.

The joke was that goats in Spain can climb and, once a year, when the belltower is so full of our caprine friends, have to be forcefully removed.
