I'm piss bored of living oop norf, so far from so many lovely people that I miss in that lovely city, in a house that's empty and cold again, even though I've just spent an evening in the company of some great people. So I feel your pain.

At least I was drinking cold Staropramen, albeit from what I suspect were inadequately cleaned pipes.

Anyone need a bank closing? I'm half serious.

My current account back home is with Alliance and Leicester. Remember how they were so shit they had to get bought out by Santander?

My company's bank accounts are with Abbey. Who were so shit they got bought out by Santander.

Over here in Ireland, obviously I need some kind of current account. I got one with Postbank - the Irish Post Office. Very basic, but it sufficed for a few months.

But I needed a bit more, including the capability of transferring to/from the UK. Three weeks ago, on a Saturday, I went into the local Tallaght branch of the Halifax and opened an account. On the Monday, at 8am, Halifax announced they were closing all their retail banking in Ireland.

Fine, no worries, I'll shop around and keep using Postbank. Muhahaha...think again, Mikey!

Morning. I woke up in agony. Last night my shoulder began hurting. Today I can't move my left arm. Typing is hard.

Hope every one is having a better day than me.

I don't mind Wednesdays.. someone at work has lent me the God of War collection too so that's something to look forward to this evening (or whenever I get bored of Sonic and Sega All Star Racing with Banjo & Kazooie... To give it it's full title)

(didn't think this was worth a new topic but hope the right people read it)

Does anyone else here use a corporate domain version of Google Mail? Yes, ok, good. Do any af you know the settings for getting it working through a smartphone email client? Or where I could get them from? In this time of hi-tech, I still have to jump on a PC to check my work email and with my workday now including a quarter mile walk between buildings 10 times a day, I could do with some portability.

Ta.

Yes. You need to expand upon "Do any af you know the settings for getting it working through a smartphone email client?"
What smartphone?
Do you essentially want to know how to connect via IMAP?

I use our corporate Gmail through my iPhone, but I'm buggered if I can remember whether I set it up through the Gmail account option or an Exchange server. Also, I haven't a glue for the G1 (if that's what you've got? I can't remember)

If only there were some sort of micro-blogging device where JC could say "good morning" and all the people that cared would see it and reply?

I don't think the grumpiness comes from the sentiments behind your wishing people good morning John, rather the fact that it makes the content of the posts exactly the same every time, and as such isn't really adding anything that people find interesting to read.
