You're not allowed to eat rabbits (or any animal) you buy from a pet store, presumably because they're not bred with the appropriate health checks.

After a recent holiday to France, I told my parents that I'd had rabbit for the first time. After an awkward pause, Dad said me that when we used to go on family holidays there when I was a kid, what they told me was chicken might not on some occasions have actually been chicken.

They can't stop you eating it once you've bought it, but I imagine they could stop you procuring a pet with the intent of killing it.

They can't stop you eating it once you've bought it, but I imagine they could stop you procuring a pet with the intent of killing it.

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys. Had a fantastic day and got spoilt rotten. Don't think I've ever had so many presents on my birthday before!
Also had a lovely lunch in a fantastic pub in Highgate. The Bull and Last on Highgate Rd if any of you gourmands feel like checking it out. It's definitely one of the better, ahem, "gastro" pubs I've eaten in
