Surely minus points (somewhat redeemed by tipsyness, but still)? The Guardian minute-by-minute or over-by-over is approximately 3 trillion times better than the BBC rip-off of same.[/quote]

True, but I've been in the OBO enough times for it to not be that exciting any more (though with Rob Smyth back at the wheel I might try more often). I figures the BBC one would be harder, as it must have a lot more readers, yet got in first time.

I'm aiming for the Holy Trinity. Been in the Fiver and the OBO - now to get a mention on Football Weekly for the full set.

I was playing Timeshift last night and it gave me motion sickness... I haven't had that since Timesplitters 2 on the Gamecube.

You're frightened of acrobats?

Relatedly - gymnastics. What's going on there, eh?

Men's gymanstics - grown up men competing.

Women's gymnastics - leetle, barely pubescent girls bouncing around in skimpy, tight clothing.

It's like socially acceptable paedophilia.

Last game that did that was one of the Duke Nukem games (Time to Kill I think) on the PS1. It was so easy to fall off high ledges that on one level when you climb to the top of a castle, I'd inch around everywhere - took me bloody ages.

Painfully true for me, actually. I have played a sum total of 15 minutes of Arse Effect, Ass Creed and Forza 2, and 60 million hours of CoD4.

I'm going to lock it away and play something else for a bit.

Mrs Me and I bought a Go set a while ago, and started playing. The rules are dead simple, but I can see how it would take a lifetime to get really good at.

It's a very, very good game, basically. And easy to learn the rules of. So Go* get it!

If you want a good game that'll tax your brain, try Quarto. I'm sure I've mentioned it before. It's basically noughts and crosses in 4 dimensions and I invariably win or (more often) lose without seeing it coming for a second.

I've just smashed my 9 month old Samsung laser printer into thousands of bits.*

NEVER buy a Samsung printer. They are shite. For the record it was a CLP 300N which had a fucked paper feed mechanism which has slowly been getting worse since March and that Samsung have refused to honour the warranty on.

The man from the printer supplier I just spoke to told me that they were shockers and has sold me a Xerox which is arriving on Monday.

* Well about 20. I dropped it onto concrete and kicked the shit out of it for abit. Most satisfying. On the downside I now have boxes of toner I need to sell.

6 months of pent up anger where the fucker would never feed paper at the most critical moments.

Anything non-critical it would be fine.

And it wasn't so much anger as enjoyment by the end. AS I KICKED IT'S SMUG PRINTER FACE IN!!!!!!

I was once rather pissed off about something and so punched a door. Unfortunately it was not a light door, but a heavy hardwood fire door, and I cracked a knuckle which then hurt for 4 months.

I've started doing something I think is called "exercise". It's something like that, anyway.

Boss has brought a treadmill thingy into the office, so for the last few days I've been using it.

Being grossly unfit (and actually over listed the weight limit for the machine -shhh!) I've been taking it slow. First day was 2.0km at 4.2kph, yesterday was 2.5km at 5.0kph and today was 3.0km at 5.0kph. Which isn't much, but my feet seem to disagree.

Pathetic as those stats are, I'm quite proud of myself.

It's not been killing me, but I have been working up a bit of a sweat. And I'm quite glad I can actually manage those speeds and distances without dying, given how unfit I am.

I've even been quite enjoying it. It's good to get away from the desk and listen to some music for a bit. It's even making me feel better, in my head at least.

Walking. A decent slow jog registers at about 10km/hr

Very much walking.

I'm going to do a little bit more every few days as I ease into it, I think.

Hopefully in a few month's time I might be doing a bit of jogging.

I always think I can't run for shit but then if called upon it's hell for the first few minutes but then gets easier quite quickly.

I'm shocking fast for a big fella once I've built up speed - just don't get in my way :)

Maybe I should have a goal of doing the London Marathon in 2013, as I'll be 40 that year.

Or, um, maybe not.

Me too.

I used to be soooo in shape...

*weeps*

Still, walking up the Hill of Doom every day at least keeps my legs in working order. As does walking over an hour every day in getting to and from stations.

In fact, my legs and arms are fine. It's the stomach area that tends to be the problem.

Good on you Rev, getting started is often the hardest part. On that note I am about to attempt to put up a shower of sorts. If I've not posted by this evening I maybe wedged in the bath with a drill so I may need someone with cutting tools to free me, please feel free to call the fire brigade. ?:|

I find I can't go for walks around the village, because my legs start screaming at me after fifteen minutes or so. On the treadmill, though, they're fine. I guess because it's even and regular, or something.

I can do one better, I just checked my GPS log. A moving speed of 4.7mph over 27.38 miles. So that's 7.56km/h.
